Fintan29: Super Mario franchise, Animals, Family Guy, fairies, adventures

But most of all, I'm probably obsessed with Wario the most. I might start a new collection soon.

As a child: astronomy and atonal music

As an adult: the mind and its place in nature, but I still got the atonal music playing in the background

mystyc--

Underlying obsession:
  • Ideas and the relationship between ideas.
    • Example: research problems that interest me.

Secondary but related obsessions:
  1. Searching for ideas in media and the internet.
    • Examples: Anime/manga, wikipedia, science fiction, philosphical fiction, non-fiction texts, research journals, people, etc...

  2. Manifesting/exchanging ideas.
    • Examples: Work on future books and research papers, post stuff online, chat online, sometimes even *ack* talk to people in person *ack*, etc...

  3. Analyzing ideas.
    • Examples: Writing in my research journals, sitting and thinking, walking and thinking, pacing and thinking, bouncing ideas off of others, meditate, etc...

Hah, random. If you have any questions about nuclear physics, I might be able to help. I am a physics grad student whose research is in high energy physics, though more generally quantum field theory. We use alot of the same basic ideas and techniques as nuclear physicists, and I did take a basic course in it once, but I am not very familiar with contemporary nuclear physics research. Nor am I at all familiar with nuclear engineering.

For something amusing, check out the Oklo natural nuclear reactor , which was an area in Gabon Africa where unusual and completely unique environmental conditions created a natural uranium fission reactor. This occured long ago, and has since burned itself out, but it left a nuclear fingerprint upon the land that is likely totally unique in the solar system.

Younger:
Dinosaurs
Electricity pylons
Darth Vader's triangular mouth

Older:
Films, film trivia, cast and crew, film dates
Colosseum, Rome
Titanic (ship, though I do know much about the film)
Monty Python
Midnight Express (1978 film)
Pixar movies (Toy Story and esp Cars, Wall-E)
Home video formats (betamax/laserdisc/DVD/BD/HD-DVD esp VHS - can spend hours looking at one)

Probably slightly more common than many!

Video-game related books, music, and i like everything except classical, sometimes i listen to black metal, rarely to rap, only rap from my country, if i listen to classical music, it must be final fantasy, tales of symphonia, videogames orchestra's. I like movies, especially scary movie 4, fatso, the american pie series, although my aspie friends don't think the same, guess i'm more neurotypical than them when it comes to teen-movies Laughing. I like videogames most, especially mario, sonic, POKEMON "Droooools". Right now i just feel i have to play the games that dominated my childhood, i always went home to play this after school Heart Heart.
