Yay, the rat cage is cleaned. Cheers.

Now I have to clean up my messy workshop/attic. (I say this to myself for I've procrastinating that for over a week now)

Bugger, I just broke the frame of my old chess board. I was vacuuming the attic (Saturday, at a quarter to ten in the evening Rolling Eyes ) and I hit it unintentionally.... it fell down the stairs and yeah, now it's bust. Well, it wasn't a fancy or expensive board or anything, just a thin plywood board with a nice frame around it, but I had the thing for maybe 30 years now and yeah, bugger.

But to look on the bright side.... it creates a nice opportunity to make myself a new one with Winter on the doorstep. (totally original, with 81 squares Shocked or something)

(unbuggered)

Hey!
I just turned off the lights in my room to watch the new Harrison Ford thriller
"Crossing Over"
and a Beetle started hopping around the room!
I caught it played with it and then put it on the balcony to fly away. Very Happy

Take a photo of yours and post it here blue_bean and I'll tell you if they're the same.
I'm on the Gold Coast, so they might be fairly similar.
Mine was Really strong and a very pale beige. I couldn't hold in my fingers without it forcing it's way out.

You don't hurt them do you? Sad

Daww, well I did take a photo but now I can't get the pic off my camera Sad.

I can say that it's a lot smaller than a Christmas beetle, about 12-13mm in length, a light goldish brown colour with dark brown markings on its shell and a dark brown head. It has a roundish shape a bit like a cockchafer. They've evolved over the years; they used to have no markings.

I don't hurt them....but I can't stop the dog from eating them though Confused
