Does anyone know what the definition of a Melodic Gesture is I was gone the day he told us and my friend didn't write it down, I can't find the definition anywhere. I've googled it and it just gives me site that are critiques of peaces theat have a melodic gesture but it doesn't say what one is. I have a test on Tuesday the 12th and we need to know this definition.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I was a music major and I don't know. I wonder if it's the same thing as a motif.

Kinda. But it didn't even end up being on the test  So it didn't even matter

Yeah. Don't tell us "You need to know this." if we don't really need to know it... especialy if the definition is as unclear as the one for melodic gesture.
