“You’ve changed man” That’s what a friend of mine at work told me the other night as we were chatting about my experience during the two hurricanes. I asked her how I had changed in the five weeks since we last met, she said I’d gotten a bit bolder an outspoken, not that it was not a good thing and all but just surprised a lot of my co-workers. My family told me when I asked them about that, was that I seemed a bit more mature than I was. Now I wonder to myself how much I have changed due to my experiences, I know that I have changed in my way of thinking. Certain things I use to worry about at work and in life just don’t bother me like they use to, when I did get back I took a few days off of work to well get used to being “civilian” again. This was the first time I have ever deployed out for such a long time, so my world view is way different that what it was while I was out. I”ll give an example of why I took a few days off when I got back, I “am standing in line at the local waldo-mart grabbing a few items that I dearly missed while I was away. Behind me two women start up a conversation about how pissed off they were because a certain brand of coffee was out because of shipping problems with IKE. At that moment I really wanted to turn around and let them know they should be happy that they even have some @^&* coffee to buy. But I was being civil as best I can and just bit my lip payee for my stuff and left on out of there. Another thing that has changed as I’ve noticed is how I’ve really simplified a lot of things; my room for instance was cluttered up with various junk I never used. So I cleaned it up organized it and made it look nicer than it was, another one is my choice of food not as picky anymore when I go out to eat and everything served in front of me gets gobbled up. So I have changed, in a few ways in other still the same I “am afraid but working on it _________________ The woods are lovely, dark and deep,But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep
