same here it's like that with me too but because i find it hard to tell who is a friend and who is a "friend" i end up with the wrong crowd and then have to spend the rest of my life running away from them (they basically use me then throw me away). so basically i have NO friends or "friends" atm.

I really don't have any friends, other than the "friends" on my blog...I'm a bit of a loner, since I don't become deeply emotionally attached to anyone...

I have a few friends in real life, but I don't consider them "real" friends that I can talk to about stuff... I do however have a few close online friends that I've known for years and feel more comfortable talking with about things.

No friends here, all friends became something more because of me not beeing able to hold back my drives and curiosity. And then they get jealus of my other "friends" and leave me.

I had one, but he graduated, working at Americorp, and I don't talk to him because he is nice to everyone, which means he is talking to everyone who is socially and emotionally broken, so I can imagine his exhaustion.

Yes then, I meant mature ones. Kind of silly it's so forbidden in an adolescent forum area...

I do have about one or two close friends that I can really talk to them about deep stuff. However, I feel more comfortable talking about my views with some acquaintances online (like here and a LBT forum I continuously go on)

I have relationships with hundreds of people on different levels, and I consider all of them my friends in different ways. I have dozens of people with whom I talk and hang out, because I know pretty much everyone in my community. But as far as the closest ones go ("true friends" like you described), I think I have about thirty of forty who I really understand and accept. They're from all different places but I can pretty much talk to them about anything. I am so glad I have these great friends and of the tons of other people I know I can still find ways to interact and trust.

I've never had any real online friends though, just 'cause I find it much easier to get to know people in person.

I usually form better relationships with people I work with, rather than just people I meet.
Probably because if I'm involved in something it means it interests me and so I meet people who like the same things.
But I can never tell if they are really my friends or not.
It always seems like they go hot and cold on me, friendly one minute and then not so much, but that's probably just my being to sensitive to little signals, blowing slight moods out of proportion in my mind.

I often have the problem of not knowing what sort of "friend" my mates are.
