I do, especially when I am at the office and meet the same people in the hallways, everyday. If I am walking in a hallway and meet a person who is going the other way, either I tilt my head forty five degrees away from the person, stare at the void, or face the ground, as if pretending I didn't see the other person.
does anyone do the same? |

I get so flustered because I'll be daydreaming and then somebody I don't even know calls my name and waves and I have to smile and wave back, even though it feels weird.
Sometimes I just want to scream and tell them that they should "Talk to me if you're going to bug me!" |

I always felt kind of weird saying hello to people in the hallways at school- always as if there was some kind of etiquette that I should follow. For example, if you've said hello to a person already in the corridor, are you expected to say hi again if you meet them coming the other way? What happens in between classes when you know everybody by sight but aren't particularily good friends with them? I used to go through stages of waving and saying 'hi' to everyone, but then I started to feel like the queen mother...
I think in the end I learnt to look ahead and take a different route. Anti-social maybe, but a hell of a lot simpler! |

yeah...I face it in various ways; total oblivion, smile and look away from about 15 feet, if they know me, a short, declarative response... |

I dislike meeting people period. I especially dislike walking through a hall where both walls are full of standing people waiting on a class. They all look at you expectantly like you're supposed to do or say something, or something. Gets my nerves. _________________ The world under heaven, after a long period of division, tends to unite; after a long period of union, tends to divide. This has been so since antiquity. |

| I'm also the same way. Alot of times I think they are dissapointed when they try to be nice and I appear to be ignoring them or being rude. |

I do this all the time to strangers, and they probably think I'm weird or hostile, and maybe I am. But I can be highly social with a few people I run across, among those I know well. In supermarkets it feels more comfortable for me to do shopping at 2 am. |

Yes, I go out of my way to avoid people I know and like when I'm in a situation where I didn't expect to see them. I need to be prepared. _________________ Curiosity is not a mental illness. |

I usually look at the ground to avoid having to "see" anyone I know. It makes me appear really unfriendly, I'm sure.
I also hate it when I'm walking down a hallway and someone else is coming from the opposite direction, and we meet and have to do that weird shuffle thing while we both try to go the same way. |

Yeah, that always happens to me! I wonder is there a way of indicating with your eyes which way you intend to go, because NTs don't seem to have this problem quite as much. Or maybe the trick is to just plough on ahead and let the other person get out of your way
(better yet, what about a Green Cross Code for hallways and corridors?) |

| I always dealt with this by moving really fast everywhere like if im speeding past someone they wont speak because i am in a rush so that dont take offence by it. |

I've never had a problem with it. At school every morning, before class, I wander up and down the halls with a bunch of my friends, and we just talk to pretty much everyone we see. I like seeing a bunch of people in the hallway at once, because I always know what everyone does and where they go. It's like a window to the entire eighth grade, and I like that. _________________ º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,

| My parents had some building work done and i had to walk past the builders all the time.I was sometimes uncertain if i should say hello on passing and would go without drinks because they where in the kitchen. |

I hate the hallway situation and not knowing if I should say hello each time I see the same person in the same day. I say it as I feel awkward not saying anything, but then feel awkward saying it when I have already.
I tend to look at people and say hell as pass them in opposite direction as it breaks the awkwardness of walking past and not wanting to avoid looking at them and ti be misinterpreted as rudeness or intimidation. Bearsac will often say hello to them. As I am bad with faces I don't know if they are friend or foe or unknown to me. I get a lot of positive reaction about Bearsac, but also bad, so not knowing if they are friend or foe, and having to say something to avoid the awkwardness is a battle.
I find it easier to recognise people in my town if they are photographed with Bearsac on his website, then I can study their faces to help me rememeber. When I do recognise people it is easier to decide if I just give a passing hello, or stop and talk, and easier to know if I have seen them that day. It is easier to just smile and walk by if it is in the street than in a hallway. _________________ It's just amazing how bears and people can be.
