I was sat here thinking to myself "There are loads of threads for posting pictures of yourself, but I wish there was somewhere I could stick my pictures of costumes I've made, rather than clutter up those threads...". Suddenly, it dawned on me to make this thread. After all, fancy dress is something of an obsession of mine - more the act of making the costume than going out to a party in it. So, here is a thread for any costumes you've made, for whatever reason you made them.

Even if there aren't many fans of fancy dress here, there have to be a few theatre employees or cosplayers...

Few of my own to get it started.
DOCTOR DOOM -

DARKMAN -

SQUALL LEONHEART -

RORSCHACH -

VINCENT VALENTINE -

and my all time favourite...
PYRAMID HEAD -

Come on, get posting! Very Happy

Then post away! Love the stuff you've posted so far - what did you use to draw on the wrinkles in the second last one? I've found that eyeliner pencils work pretty well.

i've always liked people who are specially dressed and have special make-up,
i absolutely love the carnaval parades, with music of trumpets and other joyfull sounds
and people are smiling

i can say my way of every day dressing does make people think i belong to some kind of circus already
(or scarecrow fashion is probably a better description),
but i do not have pictures of that, maybe i'll make some soon

some recent make-up experiments ...

more (of the same make-up) on

I *love* the make-up in the third photo! Was there any inspiration behind it, or did you just make it up as you went? Either way, looks great!

I walked through the yard with this costume outside my cousins' house at their Halloween party in the dark and I scared the hell out of people. When they handed out awards, I got "Creepiest". Razz

Ahah~ I was thinking of starting something along these lines at some point.

My most favouritest and first costume (until very recently), Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist):

K, from Gravitation, my second cosplay (along with a Kumagoro handpuppet that I made)

Myself and my boyfriend as Hiyori and Ichigo from Bleach:

Pyjamas!Chii from Chobits (It says something about the world that this is my most photographed costume. =____= )

This is myself, my boyfriend, and a friend from school as Misa, Light and L from Death Note:

And this is us three the day after again as Eric Draven from the Crow, Ichigo again and L again. The make up for this costume was so goddamn uncomfortable I was surprised I survived it for the day:

And finally, my current work in progress, Nel from Bleach:

thanks Smile
it was to try out the make-up, in the beginning of this year i worked with young people and i had a 'photography' workshop, i tried out the make-up to be able to give them advice.

i like textures like scales, fur, plastic, metal, the texture of trees, water, etc, and much in combination with skin.
(maybe 'liking' is an understatement, i think i can easily say that is a major obsession)
but it is difficult on my own face, i could have worked a lot more on it, but did not have the time.
and other people never have the patience to sit quite for hours (which is the amount of time i could easily spend on this)

you can see the building up on the link i gave, there you can see it from a plain red face till the finished one.

this is a great thread, i love all your costumes !!! i am dreaming of an aspie costume party Very Happy (and of having a camera with an infinite memory then)

This is from the last time I celebrated Halloween....I think that's all I got, as far as costume stuff goes...unless you count theater.

aww, ford_prefects_kid, thats soooooo lovely. <3

i dont exactly know if it counts as costume, but violentcloud called the whole thing "fancy dress" for a reason, i think: last friday, i went to a kirlian camera concert in snow camo and facepaint... maybe some concert photographer had me on a photo somewhere, ill look and post as soon as i know. Smile
