A very good question! Most trolls follow a very predictable and unoriginal pattern of behavior. This usually involves visiting a number of threads and making remarks that are clearly designed to inflame the tempers of other posters or to inspire ridicule toward a legitimate member. Often the troll makes no pretense about this and will even announce that he is a troll.
