Hi my names Nigel, I'm male, 26 and live in London. I spent most of the time growing up feeling decidedly different from everyone else, which was odd. To now find out there are other people with similar terms is also quite odd as I'd spent most of my time trying to hide these differences and perfect the 'act'. It got to a point where I think the real me was lost and to be honest I'm quite scared when I show the real me or explain to people. No matter how well I do, I always feel a bit of a fraud and fear the real me will show through in the end. I realise I have to keep the act up for the NTs, but that wears a little and I just want to be myself and relax, be honest in a friendly way and talk about things which mean something. I've met one person who knew they had Aspergers, which was nice but a shock to begin with (they moved back to Canada though and was only a work colleague). I think I'd like to meet people with AS if you want to meet up you can email me on handsomesuits@yahoo.co.uk.

It was only after being diagnosed last year that I have started toi find the "real me"..
I live a little too far away to meet up, but in fact do come from London - immigrated 4 years ago.. awareness of Aspergers in South Island, NZ is a little like living in the dark ages!
