I have doen enough research spent a year here seen three different doctors and there it is =crap.

I have worked with autistic kids. I know autism.

But the majority of people I have met in the aspergers community are elitist cowardly lazy dorks.

If I had a diagnosis and a computer to hide behind i wouldnt have ever accomplished anything in my life either.

Aspergers in thier 30s and older are dorks making excuses for thier sad lives. The iones under thirty are just whiney misfits theat now have a liscence to be pitiful and proud of it.

Of course thats just an opinion.

An informed , educated, experienced opinion.

You sound like every other rude NT who figures that since he doesn't fit in, or he doesn't understand it, he's gonna try and tear it down.

Honestly, up until recently american society though being gay was curable. This is known as an opinion, and guess what? It has been proven wrong. So too will your opinion that we are full of crap.

Self-diagnoses and self-research aren't even a leg to stand upon, much less degrade us with. Take your psycho babble, for thats what your post is, and kindly leave the forum. When you have sufficiently grown up enough to accept us as the human beings we are, then you can come back.

I have not been here very long, and so I am hoping this is a joke that I don't understand.

If it is not, and you really mean this, then just leave. If we are a bunch of losers, it is stupid of you to be complaining about our company, which you need not expose yourself to. Nobody is forcing you to post here with a gun to your head (I assume).

Why would you complain about interactions which you need not take part of?

I am suspicious of an individual who is so 'badass' that they namecall others over the computer. This sounds like the doings of an embittered individual with no one to beat up on in person.

Goodbye then.

PS - and if this is typical behavior of the 'cured', then I want to be AN ASPIE FOR LIFE! Laughing

You know...I have to admit that when I read the title I got a little upset....and then I read the post and thought about it....and laughed...

I'm smiling now.

I'm 40 years old. I have felt other, and different all of my life. My father told me I would be different from everyone else forever, and that I would never really connect with the world the way most people do. I tried desperately to prove him wrong. I worked hard. I went to school. I tried to fit in. I got married and had kids. I made myself do what everyone said you were supposed to do.

Along the way I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and ADD and Social Phobia. I was put on all sorts of medications. Nothing really worked properly. I discovered I was gay and came out. Somethign still wasn't right. I told my partner all the strangeness that I experienced.

Then I found this site while looking up ADD/AS in regards to my son. And I finally found people who are like me. I finally felt like I wasn't alone. There were other people out there who experienced similar things that I did. I didn't feel so isolated anymore.

So saying that AS is a load of crap is funny to me. I have never felt so validated in my life. It doesn't matter to me that people whine. It doesn't matter that people complain. Sure, people do that. I'm betting there are a fair number of highly functioning AS here as well. I'm betting that alot of AS are also happy and active. I'm betting that just like NTs, you get a cross section of everything.

I'm sorry you're not pleased right now. Your desire to strike out and make people angry doesn't make you that much different than the people who whine and complain, now, does it? You're rather transparent.

Claiming others are 'dorks' isn't educated. Unless you actually consider just saving information on the neurological hard drive called brain as 'educated'. I connect education with manners. Calling anyone 'dorks' isn't mannered, but very rude.

I'd advice you not to do this again, please.

Saying things like these also does not add to the credibility of your statements. To reconsider this rude attitude would benefit yourself even if you do not care for what others think.

Many people with Asperger's Syndrome and other ASD's manage to succeed despite the challenges they face; stereotyping in this fashion isn't particularly helpful nor is it an indicator of well-reasoned thought.

Congratulations on your cure - now you can change your designation from Have Asperger's - Diagnosed to Neurotypical!

Your sweeping statements are amazing - I have a diagnosis AND a computer to hide behind AND I make a pile of money AND I don't use Asperger's as an excuse for anything, because I do outstanding work, AND no one in my office even knows about the Asperger's, except for my immediate supervisor.

This boss is smart enough to make use of my unusual abilities, and overlook the Aspie quirks, which is to everyone's benefit, because I can solve computer problems that no one else in my office can.

Knowing about the Asperger's has made life much easier for me, simply because I have learned WHY I am different from everyone in my workplaces, past and present. That knowledge helps me succeed, because I have learned to lower my expectations of NT co-workers.

Contrary to your claim of great expertise, you don't seem to know much about Asperger's at all.

I'm glad that I'm not cured, like you. I'd hate to be cured, if I'd end up, with your attitude.
