Ellijah Wood
Maculay Culkin |

Elijah Wood seems to be faring better than Macaulay Culkin. It's also worth noting that, thus far, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson may not fall into the trap of the ex-child star. Dunno about Rupert Grint, but the industry reckons he has a future.
Just remember that Peter Firth, Adam Savage, Jessica Alba, Julie Andrews, Christian Bale, Leo DiCaprio, Matt Dillon, and a number of successful actors were child stars. _________________ Once it gets going, though, it's a roller coaster thrill ride - a roller coaster that stops dead every now and again like it's run by British Rail. -Yahtzee on GTA IV |

| What's the topic exactly? You just sort've started naming child stars. |

We're talking about child-star burnouts and how pathetic they can become.

I was shocked to hear that Aileen Quinn passed away quite a while ago! _________________ Jason Larsen

Jessica Alba...I like her! I have good feelings that my friend Cameron Bright will make it just fine! _________________ *Christina*

First one that comes to mind is Drew Barrymore. I was sort of shocked when someone told me that she was the little girl in Spielberg's E.T. _________________ "How about a shave?"

The Coreys Haim and Feldman peaked with Lost Boys and have been falling hard ever since. I've seen their reality TV show and While it seems Feldman has done okay for himself and retained some measure of dignity, Corey Haim is painful to watch. You really have to feel sorry for the guy. The 2 Coreys' Hollywood comeback is less and less likely with every passing year. I hate to say it, but it's true.

What's so bad about them now? To understand this question you have to understand how huge they used to be. It's always sad to see someone clinging their to past glory like the villain from
Die Hard dangling from the office tower. But were I in Corey Haim's place, who's to say I woldn't be doing the same thing?

Aileen Quinn? Never heard of her. Any relation to Anthony or Adan Quinn?
Call me crazy, but is Michael Jackson the ultimate cautionary example for parents who fanatically push their kids into showbiz? It boggles the mind, how f***ed up you can be after a tempestuous child stardom. Has to be the most lucrative & exciting form of abusing your offspring there is. Just ask Dina Lohan! |

Aileen Quinn played Annie in the made-for-tv movie of the same name.
I thought she passed away, but she didn't. I'm sorry. _________________ Jason Larsen

If Aileen Quinn is still alive, there's a good chance she's gone underground like the Phantom of the Opera, her disfigured face hidden under a mask. Statistically speaking, how many childhood stars make it to their adult years without drug & alcohol addictions, bizarre marriages, criminal records, grave misfortune, or derangement?
Methinks it is not many who survive this gauntlet unscathed. |

It was one of my old music teachers who told me Aileen Quinn died. I don't know what she was thinking! _________________ Jason Larsen
