To be honest, I don't think we need more mods. I'm surprised that only having three mods is enough to run a forum with 18960 members but if it works then why fix it.
I totally agree with Quatermass' views on this situation.

It's probably closer to a few thousand, taking into account members who haven't posted lately, those who have been banned, and those sockpuppets of trolls.

Still, I think we have plenty of mods. After all, it's better to have a few really good ones than loads of rubbish mods (I'll keep that in mind when I start my own forum up).

I think that there should be a couple more mods. I would if I simply had TIME (I would for the summer, but I'm sure you don't want a temporary mod), because I LOVE rules.
I think that there should be a place to say that we're interested in being a mod, but NOT to beg, just to say that we would if you wanted us to. It's a big honor after all!

i think they should allow us to nominate people and then the entire board vote!

it should be based on factors... |
There should be certain Criteria for this process and those who are nominated via a committee of four mods and Alex himself because they are the higher up in the community.

How would that work because people have ask the question over and over again. A nominating process is better suit for the idea.

I have seen an application process on the nsider forum. When it first opened after the one shut down on the Nintendo website. People had to apply to be a mod. They had to say what their experience was and all and what they would do as a mod and why they want to be a mod.
Lot of them were approved and lot of them were ejected. I dunno if the board is still there but I think the application thing has closed since the mods have been found.

People express interest in being a mod when they demonstrate concern for the well-being of the community by routinely reporting problems to mods.

When I start my forum, I'm going to have a Mod Waiting List for people to decide whether they want to be a mod, and then I would choose a mod depending on the best behaved one on the list. I don't want to give mod jobs to people who have no interest in being mods.
Oh, and regards to that statement of yours MrMark, does that mean that Strapples fits in with that statement?
