It's about time people with disabilities including AS in higher education have a collective voice.

Hi Lisa,
I'm a member of the DAP Xi Chapter at George Mason University which was established as the spring of 2008. I don't hold an office position for them but I have talk to the coordinator in ODS about forming ASD's committee which I'm willing to lead because I have past experience in leadership roles(NJROTC). _________________ Jerry

Jerry,
I found DAP to be a great experience. Since our chapter has members that accept differences, it's a much nicer atmosphere to be in on days that I can't speak well or on days that I forget names. As well as, members that have difficulty communicating have a willing audience that is not :::sighing::: as you hear in regular classes.
I do more fundraising activities. I am looking into establishing a group here at CSU Dominguez Hills. I'm not looking forward to President duties because I often can forget where I am and what I'm saying if there are too many distractions, but I would like to grow DAP chapters.

Dr. Miller is a very nice person to in person and she sent me ASAN website to look at though not much but I been around. I think there is 20 or more chapters now since the spring of 2004. Mason is one of the more recent to founded. I'm going to have fun with DAP for sure. I'm like already in the line for the President duties with GMU Kumdo/Kendo Club with being its VP for this year. _________________ Jerry
