Hey all,

I bought a couple of old Macs at an op shop the other day, and they do seem to work. I mean, I plugged them in, with a pair of speakers and turned them on, and I heard the startup sound. Does this mean they are in working order, or would I need a screen to be 100% sure?

One of the macs I bought is a LC475 (also known as a Quadra 605) which cost me $5. It has a slot for a network card and I've located one on eBay, but I'm unsure about it and I want to be sure as postage to get it from the US to Australia is $22.50. The LC475 has a PDS slot, but this card comes in that and NuBus flavours. I've had a look, and it appears that all PDS cards are mounted parallel to the board, whereas NuBus cards are mounted perpendicular. Would I be right in assuming that? I just don't want to spend a decent bit of money on something that won't even work with my machine.

The other, for interest's sake, is a Power Mac 7220/200, which cost me $10.

Thanks in advance.
