I picked a bag of this salty Finnish licorice up at ikea. I tried some and hated it. The next day, I tricked my entire AP European history class into eating a piece. Laughing

Does anyone like this stuff? Although I don't like it now, I have the feeling that if I ate it more often I would probably like it. It is an acquired taste like black coffee or chilli powder-encrusted mexican candy, both of which I used to hate, but now love.

I love salmiakki. They don't sell it in Switzerland, but right across the border in Germany, they have it in drugstores and department stores. It's definitely an acquired taste, but for a while I was almost addicted to it.

It's a kind of hard, salt lozenge-shaped licorice that you suck rather than chew. There's an even better salt licorice from Denmark called "Super-Piratos". It's shaped like ancient coins with pirate motives (swords, cannons etc.).
