|
|
Hi, I'd like to know ways to find out how severe my Asperger's traits are, especially in comparison to other aspies and NTs (especially NTs).
The traits I'm concerned with are empathy, obsessive interests, black-and-white thinking, egoism, reciprocity, and social skills in general.
I'd also like to know what methods I could use to predict future progress.
Thanks |

| A doctor with a lot of experience dealing with mental patients rated me a 4 on a scale of 1-10. 10 is the most severe of course. |

You might want to go into more detail before we try to help, though of course our opinion isn't as good as a doctor's. _________________ "You can do the math a thousand way, but you can't undo the past"

I find that the children's PDD scale is really quite good if you can remember what you were like, then. Some of it is transferable to adulthood, but not all, so it may or may not be helpful.

I'm actually asking methods to use, not your personal opinion of my severity, but thanks for offering it.
I guess I could offer some background info. Right now, I'm 20. I'm a college freshman with fairly good grades (I had to repeat the 2nd grade due to reading delays). I drive and have a job. My job is at Subway where I regularly interact with customers. My co-workers seem to like me for the most part. The owner of the place called me a "keeper." I can generally tell when people are phony and when they notice my Asperger's. The manager though is "fake-nice" so I don't believe anything she says.
However, I've only been on two dates and have never kissed a girl, though girls occasionally flirted with me, mostly in high school. I think I could have gone on more dates, except it took me longer than usual to get my license plus I'm introverted.
Up until recently, I had a friend I could confide in. However, he went to boarding school. Plus, he's 3 years younger than me and is having some personal problems with drugs and mental illness.
In high school, people could sometimes tell I wasn't normal. I noticed without them telling me. I'm a bit literal sometimes as as jokes go, but I think I've gotten better at it. |

I scored a 63, which is mild PDD. The site states, "However, if there are no features present in the second section, Speech and Language Delay, but the overall score is above 60, consider Asperger's Syndrome.."
The criteria is as follows:
0 - 49 = no PDD
50-100 = Mild PDD
100-150 = Moderate PDD
> 150= Severe PDD |

Now my score is a high Mild PDD (91)
Pretty darn good improvement. I wasn't sure what to say for some answers, so I put them slightly up then what they probably are. _________________ "You can do the math a thousand way, but you can't undo the past"

Whoa, I got 162 (severe PDD)!
Maybe I better go through that again..... _________________ Do I have a formal diagnosis?
That's still a subject of debate, and I still don't understand why this question is so difficult to answer.

I got 133 (moderate PDD) this time, and 167 if it was for me at age 6.
I wonder what mild, moderate, and severe are supposed to mean.....
It's an interesting quiz nonetheless.
You could use this scale, or one of the other scales floating around on these forums, or just look around and see how other aspies compare to you.
Comparing yourself to NTs is a little trickier though.... I'll get back to you when I figure that one out. |

You could try Simon Baron-Cohen's "Autism Quotient" quiz.
I'd post a link, but I'm too new. |
