Style is nice, it is a bit ironic since looking at someone is a difficult thing for a lot of Aspies.

A little odd.

On one hand, she looks like someone with telekinetic powers who gets very angry. She doesn't look particularly gifted to me, or in fact with Asperger's at all, just a little weird.

On the other, the text is quite good, setting you up on one foot and the on the other.

A tad freaky, but I like the distant-yet-peering-out-unknown-complexity aspect.

Why don't they make up AS posters to represent each culture, instead of just Emo? Other than that, it is a nice poster.

I don't think it looks emo. I've never even heard of an emo Aspie. That just seems weird to me. And it doesn't seem like eye contact to me, since it's a camera, not a person. I think she's really pretty, and does look like she has telekinesis or something. I like it.

I never said that aspies are emo, I said the girl in the picture looks like an Emo or an Emo Kitty, and yes there are a few Emo aspies.
Telekinesis ? how do you make that assumption from a picture, she does look like that kid from The Grudge, those black eyes are kind of haunting.

Well, if anyone would have telekineses, it would be her.

I can so imagine someone being abusive towards her, her staring into his eyes, and this he suddenly feeling immense and unbearable pain, and she stares him to the ground, where he lies in a heap, whimpering...

Seriously. She's freaky.

I don't understand this poster.

There's a person, looks like a girl maybe, and the text? What does being gifted and AS mean? What does it have to do with eyes/hair/a face?

I'm missing something out here, I guess.

I didn't think she had telekinesis in a Carrie way. She looks fine to me, just maybe has mental powers. I don't know why she looks like a telekinetic, she just seems like she could move things with those eyes.

I think it's excellent. It reminds me of me, watching everything around me, trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together based on what I observe. Forget who or what he/she is looking at, that's not important. And I view it as a gift, even though it provides me some protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Laughing

The symbolism for autism (the jigsaw puzzle pieces) is so apropos.

Okay, for those of us that are no longer in our twenties, what the heck does "emo" mean?

I googled it and found a half-dozen contradictory definitions, including "generation of young people who wear their tortured hearts on their tattered sleeves". Elsewhere it was equated to brainless, "valley-girl-like", "someone who actually cares what Paris Hilton wears", and others.

So what do YOU mean by the word "emo"?

Penny

Penny:
Ah, the sex was hard to determine at such close range.

Emo can mean a variety of things. Emos tend to look like goths, and are attention whores. They are often cutters, but parade them around. They cut for attention, not the usual reasons for cutting. Tight girl pants. Hair over one eye. They pretend to have mental problems they don't have to get attention or feel special. This is what I have gathered about individuals who are emo, and the stereotype. Although, as far as I can tell, emo is a clique, which is really just a stereotype that people strive to fit into.
