Hi Starr, LGBT= lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender. It is a more formal, politicaly correct term for queer. Thanks for the welcome!
Slowmutant, I took it to be an honest question.javascript:emoticon(' ')

I can't speak for all lesbians, but I am not offended or repulsed by religion. Just some denominations. I am interested in Judaism, Quakers and Unitarianism. _________________ I'm sweet on the outside and rotten within... |

| Slowmutant- Although organized religion (the term always makes me think of "organized crime") has historically treated queerfolk badly- ever wonder where the word ''faggot'' came from?- there are many religious lesbians and gays. You don't check your faith at the door when coming to terms with your sexuality- you find a way to make both work in your life, and look for a community of others who share your outlook. Thank G-d for the Internet!!! |

So the word "faggot" oiriginated with organized religion? It used to mean something other than what it means now, some British reference to firewood or kindling, I think. _________________ and deliver us from evil |

The real question is, are all free thinkers offended / repulsed by religion? _________________ We all dream; we do not understand our dreams, yet we act as if nothing strange goes on in our sleep minds, strange at least by comparison with the logical, purposeful doings of our minds when we are awake. -Erich Fromm |

| I know you're a free thinker, greenblue. A wayward sheep that's wandered away from the flock. |

I think it may be the other way around. Religion seems to be the one offended. I've known religoius people who will thump the Bible and tell gays they are going to hell, but if you tell them to go to Hell...
I say...to each his own. _________________ On with the show...This is it. |

| Compassion is very important in situations like this. I have my beliefs about homosexuals but I do not Bible-thump or confront anyone about their lifestyle. I'd prefer to isolate the sin from the sinner as much as possible. What a challenge this is for Christians everywhere, living alongside homosexuality in the spirt of compassion & love. |

but you are I see you wandering them all. I know your religion impels you to find the sheep that was lost, but you are becoming a troll about it.

I respect you for holding firm to your beliefs without the need to smack others in the face with it. _________________ On with the show...This is it. |

| I don't expect to make any conversions or reclaim any lost sheep. I don't do that kind of thing. I'm not any kind of radical, so get that out of your head. |

I read your comments on this and many, many other threads, slowmutant, and I have for weeks. what I have in my head is not that you are a 'radical', but then I have no problem with radicals.
