As a child I would only eat cheeseburgers in restaurants (luckily I outgrew that because I'm now dating a jew whose parents never have milk products in the same meal as meat products). One of my main concerns was that I'd order something I didn't like and then be stuck having to eat it. Cheeseburgers were something I knew I liked so that's all i had. If we went to mcdonalds i'd run across the street to get my cheeseburger at BK.
As an adult I discovered the reason I couldn't stand most food as a child was because of all the seasonings/sweetners etc added to them. Rather than spitting out sweet potatos the moment they touched my tastebuds, I discovered I loved them. And I gradully began to add seasonings and now like a lot of food that isn't completely bland - there were just too many seasonings on each things for my tastebuds when i was younger.
Last time I ate teff flour I got very sick - was dry heaving all night long. It was around three months before I was willing to try amaranth flour. Since it was brown I associated it with the teff flour
* I recently changed my eating habits at age 26 when I went on the candida. I plan to eat like this for the rest of my life- though now the candida is gone, i don't mind the occasional ice cream or other nonallowance |

My son is very picky with food, he has lived on tuna sandwiches at school for the last 2 years! He told me when he was 6 he would eat vegetables and now he (albeit only one piece) eats a bit of carrot, a bit of broccoli, corn on the cob and a few bits of an apple! I couldnt believe it! He is still fussy though and if it doesn't look okay he won't go there, it is frustrating though isn't it. Have you tried putting just a piece of fruit or veg on another plate near her when she eats so she can take some if she wants it? I dont make a big deal of out it anymore and I find it has helped him to try a nibble of different things.

I can't stand most vegetables. They're even worse cooked. Cooked carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, etc make me gag. There's something about the taste/smell that my brain picks up and it just wants to puke. But I like raw carrots just fine - I probably eat them more than any other vegetable.
Beyond those things, I do have a few favorites that I usually eat at home. At most restaurants I have "my thing" and that's all I eat. As a married adult I've compromised my horizons a bit. My wife has figured out what types of things I will eat and makes suggestions if we're someplace new. |

| Thank you for giving opinions .My main concern is her fear of vomiting. This is what prevents eating anything she considers unsafe.I cant convince a varied diet is ok. I live in hope that boredom will eventually tempt her to try more . |
