Buddy cop is a subgenre which combines action, comedy and crime. Their plots usually involve two very different people with conflicting personalities, where one of them is a cop.

My favourite buddy cop movies are Another 48 hrs., Turner & Hooch, Bulletproof and Starsky & Hutch. Smile

The perfect example of a buddy cop movie:

I guess I must be a fan of the "buddy cop" genre...

-In the Heat of the Night
-Lethal Weapon
-Armed and Dangerous
-Die Hard with a Vengeance
-Bad Boys
-Rush Hour

Does "Beverly Hills Cop" count? Eddie Murphy is on his own a lot of the time, but he eventually has to team up with those other two guys, and it's hilarious.
