If I can get any booze at the time, then yes, I drink, even if it's 10 in the morning. Embarassed

I mean no school work, and the economy is in recession.

Time to hit the bottle I feel. A warlike man, in times of peace, makes war upon himself.

I guess this threads for those alcoholics who only need it when theres no work to be done.

*raises hand*

Count me in!

I have a vodka problem. When I'm feeling sh**, which is mostly all the time, I'll drink straight from the bottle.

But I've just found out I am not allowed to drink while on Prozac (I was prescribed it yesterday)..

Sad

Never touched the crap.

Never will.

It's poison. Alters thought processed, impairs judgement, shoots the liver to hell and wipes out a lot of money.

Alcohol and aspergers don't mix. It takes a great deal of self control to restrain my aspie tendencies and act like an NT. Alcohol erases those self controls pretty quick.

Its a great way to lose friends.

I use it as a crutch in social situations. Without it, when I am out in public I spend the whole time on the uncomfortable verge of sensory overload....and experience a great deal of anxiety and fatigue.
It is very hard for me to talk to and interract with people.
It is kind of annoying and scary to have to rely on it like that.
Lucky for me, I am usually not out in public. Granted..I can have some rough/social weekends.
As long as I keep up on my omegas and my general overall health, I am less inclined towards alcohol-related meltdowns. I can get to be pretty annoying to be around though.

I only drink socially, which is kind of the opposite of this thread. I drink because there is something to do, or drinking is the thing to do... or whatever you want to explain it.

I show marked improvements with alcohol. I take away much of the over thinking and concern for what I'm trying to say and just speak my mind. I have a tendency to be witty, but much of it is shielded by wondering if it's appropriate or not sans booze.

Yeah..mine is the opposite of what this thread means as well..
I am mainly a social drinker.
I dislike the way that I am socially around people i am more-or-less unfamiliar with without at least a slight buffer of alcohol.

An example I can give is of this life-drawing workshop I recently started going to where the instructor sorta asked that it not be a drinking occasion. I felt so socially stiff, I thought I would break...but my drawings turned out alot better than they would have otherwise.

This is in stark contrast to another life-drawing workshop I attend where there is all kinds of music and everyone gets kinda sauced...but my drawings get progressively worse throughout the evening.

Sometimes.

You see, I'm very private about my emotions. I'm not very emotional to begin with. When I do experience intense emotions, they really overwhelm me and I don't know how to express them, so I deal with them in a very private manner.

Often this is productive, involving writing or creative projects, or posting here. Other times, I feel so awful, there's really nothing that can make me stop feeling suicidal except for intoxicating substances.

Otherwise, I hate being intoxicated. I like having a beer or two, but I only abuse substances when I'm severely depressed and wanting to die - as far as I know, nothing else can stop me from feeling this way.

And I really don't want to be suicidal, or self-destructive at all. I wish life wasn't so hard so often. Sometimes it's as if life is designed to convince you to kill yourself.
