Zimbabwe was never wealthy, but Mugabe isn't helping matters. It's time for him to step down and stop brutalizing the people of Zimbabwe.

Hopefully soon, and also I hope that when he finally dies Zimbabwe will transition into a stable democracy rather than power passing to a new dictator.

No it won't, sanctions are worthless and any attempted action against the UK will just strengthen Mugabe's stranglehold on Zimbabwe. Remember, he was a hero to them for helping them gain independence from Britain. He has since become a brutal dictator, but any attempts by Britain to act against Mugabe will meet with jingoistic rhetoric and the continued consolidation of power by Mugabe.

There is only one way to remove Mugabe from power. Reality and his brain will come into contact with a fatal outcome, to paraphrase Thomas Huxley.
While killing him will not solve all issues, I think that the whole stranglehold his party has will be weakened by his passing.
To paraphrase Cato, 'Delenda Mugabe est'.

By printing off 500-million-dollar bills. Crude quantity theory of inflation works quite well.

You are right, Burnse. I got thinking about it after I posted and I should/could have written: "Suck this, Mugabe!" I was in a hurry. Patience, me!
Orwell, I still say that peer pressure is what should be continuing at the UN. No more invasions, or assassinations. Just more trouble.

I would rather the pressure come from SADC, but unfortunately Thabo Mbeki neglected to grow a pair.
