Just curious because I don't think I've ever experienced it. I mean, I'd know, right?
I have noticed that in the 48 hours prior to the onset of my period, I feel a little mopey and I cry more easily, but I don't feel the least bit irritable. It's more like if there's a reason to be depressed, I'll dwell on it internally for longer than I would otherwise. But I don't think it affects the way I act.
I have never experienced any kind of anger or aggression or anything like that around the time of my period.
It really annoys me when a guy says something extremely insulting to me, like, "Woah, you look like sh** today, Kim - rough night or just the aging process?" and I fire back some defense like, "Oh, really? Well, thank Satan I don't look like a fat blob of crap like you do every day - it sure must hurt you to look in the mirror."
And then, just because I defended myself, the guy accuses me of "PMSing". I then explain that it's not that time of the month and I don't think I really get PMS anyway, and he just says, "Aw, don't worry sweetie, all women get it. No need to beat yourself up about it." (BTW, this is usually a co-worker or casual social aquaintance - I would never go out with an a**hole like that!)
Do any of you experience the same thing - stupid guys accusing you of PMSing when they try to pick a fight and you stick up for yourself?
How common do you think it is to never get PMS? If this is the case for you, do you have a hard time getting anyone to believe you? |

I get it, but it's pretty mild. The biggest indication is just being a little more sensitive, emotionally. Also, I can stand to read romance type books then, most of the time I think they're crap. Oh yeah, it's also the only time I can semi-tolerate clothes shopping, which I hate. I guess I just get slightly girly, normally I'm not at all.
It's generally the week before, sometimes a little more or less. |

When I ate junk food I did, but since I cut sugar, processed foods of any kind, artificial additives etc and just eat a natural pescetarian diet I don't get it at all!
Diet plays such a huge part.
PMS is often linked to magnesium deficiencies and lack of essential fatty acids, if that's of any use... _________________ We are a fever, we are a fever, we ain't born typical...

I don't really change much at all... that I can see anyway. I also have never gotten anyone saying anything.
And it SO pisses me off when guys blame a comeback or something they SO diserve on PMS. Its like they are saying "Meh, she didn't mean it/none of anything is my fault because she is on that time of the month." Grr, I'm telling you, unless I say I don't mean it, I really mean it. *Shakes head* using something as an excuse, expecially when it doesn't apply makes no sence. And it is even worse when they try and patrionize you about it.
Ah well, I just don't give those guys the time of day. _________________ Humm, guess I should put something witty here, huh? |

Well, you know, PMS is when a woman's hormones are more like a man's hormones. They've even found our spatial skills go up at that time of the month (though not enough to boost SAT scores, apparently).
PMS is an easy label for any time a woman gets bitchy. Some possible comeback lines:
"No, this is nothing. Come back in two weeks, when I really have PMS."
"No, I'm just a natural bitch."
"It's the company, not the hormones."
Actually, I've never said anything, because I dont think I've ever been accused of PMSing. Either that or I just stared and went "duh" when they did. Can't remember. But I certainly think stuff like that.
I've never noticed symptoms of PMS. I do notice when ovulation is coming up, though. |

I'm not entirely sure that I'd call it PMS, but about two weeks before I start (and I'm pretty d*** regular) I get every symptom. Except each time it's different. So one month I'll feel horribly bloated. The next I have three zits. The next I get cranky. The next I'll bawl and bawl for no reason whatsoever (usually over kittens or puppies. I'm a sucker for cute baby animals). Then sometimes I get two/three/four symptoms all at the same time.
Stupid hormones *shaking fists* I would so give up my ovaries. I'm so tired of all of it. _________________ There are only 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary and those who don't. |

Another response, could be "Yeah, so what's YOUR excuse?" _________________ "However gradual it looks from here, look if you like, but you will have to leap." |

| Nah...I don't think I ever did. Now I'm on the pill and I don't even get periods, but before that I was never more emotional, moody, bitchy, bloated, or anything else. When I had really bad acne I noticed a flair up of comedoes right around ovulation (two weeks before my period)...literally thoudands of them.....then my period would bring a few cysts with it. I don't know if that's PMS, but I did see a correlation between my skin and my cycle.....stopping ovulation helped my skin (not enough though). When I was younger and when I venture off the pill....I do get bad cramps during my period. |

Oh, that sounds like ovulation time, not PMS. I always know when I'm ovulating because my sex drive gets so intense, it drives me crazy if I don't have a way to release it. |

No, i've never noticed anything I'd attribute to PMS. The only thing I really suffer from is the stomach cramps, and they can sometimes get really bad (as in only abating after I end up throwing up). _________________ I don't do signatures. |

I really couldn't vote from the poll. Sometimes I get PMS when I'm not taking care of myself or doing what I love doing. Then when I start having that "PMS" moment I simply try to make myself feel better. |

I don't think so. My mood can be random, but that's at any time, not necessarily on my period. I think I'm usually pretty calm on my period. _________________ Currently Reading: Survival by Juliet E. Czerneda
