I've just started playing Go for about 2 months and I have to say, it's really fun. The rules are easier than chess, yet the game is just as complicated. For those of you who don't know what go is, check out this website:

I just wanted to know: what do you think is better, chess or Go? |

| I prefer chess. The only board game I like more than chess is a variant of it, chess960. |

I played in a chess club in upper grade school for a brief time.
I got interested in Go after watching the anime Hikaru no Go.
I really enjoy Go. Bought myself a really nice wood board and some beautiful stones.
I need to get it out and play more often. |

| I think it's definitely more complex in some senses. They say if American soldiers played Go instead of Chess we would have won the Vietnam Conflict. |

Go is less about the pieces and more of the formation and territory.
It makes for a much different mental attitude when planning strategies. |

I played Go a couple of times, and I would say yes. _________________ Without logic reason is useless.

I've played Go for about eight or nine months. It went fairly well in the beginning but then I got really exhausted for reasons that had nothing to do with Go, and I stopped playing. Now I just started again but I'm about two or even three stones weaker than I used to be.
It's a bit depressing, so right now I'm trying to regain my strength before the European Go Congress.
I really love this game, even if I still can't play it well.
Does anyone here play at KGS? I would love to play someone from here sometime. Preferably someone who won't crush me... But I like to play strong people too of course. Just not the evil trick whole board killing sort of players. |

| Chess is my primary game. Scrabble is second. Haven't tried Go, just heard good things that instinctively inspire my respect. |

I prefer Stratego and Othello (even though I'm not that good at either one)
Only played Go once or twice...don't even remember the rules. I know I've played fake Go a few times (dunno what it's called, the one where you try to get five in a row), I like real Go much better.
Never been a huge fan of Chess...I think we must play it wrong, we always end up at a stalemate. _________________ How wonderful to be so profound. |

I don't even know how to play chess, so I would have to say Go is for me. _________________ Humans are intelligent, but that doesn't make them smart. |
