I found this article...

http://www.asktheadmin.com/2008/06/play-nes-games-in-firefox-tuesdays-time.html

It lets you play a lot of NES games using the firefox web browser and Java....

The keys take a bit of getting used to but the games are good.

Enjoy.

Is there a way to play the NES games with the Internet Explorer? I been looking a way to play my favorite childhood video games on the computer. I am also wondering is there a USB port adaptor for the NES controller? If there is one, where can I buy one at?

Well, the link might work with internet explorer... but...

hang on a minute... internet explorer....

wow... someone is still using it...

Try firefox or safari (my bet is on firefox though).

Honestly... I only decided to give Firefox a decent go just after IE7 got released and I realised that it wasn't going to stop crashing. I gave firefox a good week... after that, I was addicted.

I like NES but I don't use Firefox Wink

Don't care for Java NES emulators, I just use the real ones (or a real NES). Save state support, gamepad support, multiple video modes/effects, etc. \m/

And in case you're wondering, Java emulators are just as illegal as any other emu. Not that I'm really against it all that much, but I know a lot of people who think that if it's on a website and you're not downloading it, it can't be illegal Shocked

Abandonware is a legal grey area all of its own.

Well, sort of...but since the Wii's Virtual Console, NES ROMs are a bit less abandoned than they used to be Wink

But like I said, I'd be a hypocrite if I said I was against it, I was just making sure you guys knew, even though the worst that can happen is the website will go down.

I wasn't aware that the WII was backwards compatible.

Not backwards compatible exactly (only with GameCube), but with the Virtual Console, you can buy ROMs to download. They've got NES, SNES, Genesis, TurboGraFX, and all sorts of stuff.

look around on google and ebay...they sell modded nes controllers that have usb ports.

personally, i just use my 360 wired controller. it's fun to play old school nes games with such a perfectly designed controller as the 360 controller.

If you're technically inclined, you can build a parallel port adapter.

Drivers: http://www.zophar.net/joy.html

I've seen some that use three diodes instead of five, but I made a two-player SNES adapter using three, and I have trouble with it sometimes, so I'd stick with five just to be safe.
