| It doesn't matter how hard I try, I can't keep friends, I think the time has come to say stuff it and just be happy with my family. I've recently been chatting to a few people online, and I've recently had a misunderstanding or some sort of let down from all of them! I'm no a horrible or obnoxious person. Why do people dislike me so much? Anyone else have this problem? |

Yes I have this problem.
I have two people in my life, one co-worker and one that I cared about very deeply. I had misundertandings with them and it has taken a long time to accept their view of me.
You are most likely not a horrible person at all. People are busy all over the world and tend to forget manners and other things. Don't give up making friends even if those people are just friends in passing - I do believe in being responsible for one's actions, I suppose being with Aspergers we might perceive the other person's comments as not good or hurtful when there was no intention for them to be like that.
However, even if this happens, say sorry if you can and want to, but keep your self-esteem and learn from it - that's what I am doing - learning not to take every word seriously and frankly if anyone insults you then it is not your issue.

Yes. It's not so much that I think people dislike me, it's that they don't care about me - like I'm not important to anyone. I generally get along with people well... but I really don't have very many friends. I can't help but feel a bit sorry for myself. |

It is ok to feel sorry for self when this happens so don't sweat it, just keep posting and take from anyone around teh world the good advice.
But, don't rule out ever having a friend or friend that does care - I am 43 and I have some now and that is more than a blessing.

Yes I have friends. Some of them think they "understand" me but they don't really. Nah don't worry they are really good friends. Some of them are crazy and have "annoying" ticks. I can't tell how many times I have told that friend to see a doctor. Another is a ticking time bomb, one time she ran screaming I can't take this, I can't take this and ran into a window. However they remind me of myself younger self and they're sometimes good to talk to. I do have a couple particular friends and we have been friends since year 2 and they have "always" understood me. So yeah I have mixiture of craziness, suppose "understanding" and true understanding. I know it sounds odd but hey no one is perfect. Anyway, I found it very easy to make friends. Although in my eariler life some were real pricks not friends just really stupid people and I mean stupid. These people are almost completely incapable of "any" intellectual thought whatsoever. The usual people of complete insignficance. However as maturity evolves, stupid people like them disappeared and it got even easier to make friends. |

its a problem which quite a few people suffer. it can get better though. good friends you can keep forever. ill be anyones friend if they want you can pm me if you like. dont give up!

I know what you mean about the stupid people disappearing.. I think you just get smarter with what kind of people you talk to.. Ive always been stupid and tried to get close to people that are popular and I was usually good at it.. but thats why i couldnt keep a friend, I went after the wrong people.. but at least i was making SOME friends, now I got none..
I think I tend to make friend with popular people, because something attracts them to me, and I never know what it is.. even though im super quiet and stuff.. like wtf?.. who would wanna know me.. but ive kept peoples interest to some degree.. just not enough to hold a true friendship. Must be my inability to mingle.. i dont like doing the things they like to do, which is the biggest one. |
