my job may take my family to the USA for 3 years, my son is Aspergers and PDA diagnosed and goes to a fantastic school here in the UK. does anyone have any experience of schools in the maryland area? this is my main concern at present as to whether i take the job or not.

I would go to the Autism Society of America (ASA) website and look under chapters and click on the map for Maryland and see if there is a website for the local chapters or numbers. Also you can post on the talk autism site and see if anyone responds.

Good luck - we are in CA.

In my opinion you are probably right, as with ADHD. I live in the UK and the help and support over here is rubbish (and thats being polite)

It will vary greatly within each state, depending on both the financial resources of the particular school district and the leadership therein. Once you have a better idea of where you will actually live, you might contact the public (state) school district there to inquire about services. You will probably want to also look at private schools in the area, so you'll be able to make an informed decision as to where to place your child. The very best of luck to you!
