I heard that same bit on XM Satellite Radio on Monday, for the record.
Carlin was my favorite comedian of all time. The extent of my fandom, however awkward it may have been, included my ownership of five comedy albums, his Complaints and Grievances DVD from two months after 9/11, and all three of his books (all NY Times bestsellers).
If he did go to heaven, I hope Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, and Bill Hicks were there to welcome him. And don't forget his first wife, too...
