| Personally, I don't think an aspie should hang out with anyone who has a personality disorder. That's just a recipe for disaster. |

What if you are an aspie with a personality disorder? _________________ Those who speak, don't know.

Schizoid, I don't see why not. The SPD just wants to be alone. I don't know if they would want to hang out or not.
Other personality disorders, I don't know about. I would not be around someone with antisocial personality disorder, or who was antisocial towards me.
I've been around people who were antisocial toward me and know it's best to just avoid them. |

I know a few people who are schizophrenic (or at least have tendencies), we don't get along very well at all. _________________ How wonderful to be so profound. |

Schizophrenia is considerably different from Schizoid personality disorder, though.
If an Aspie and a person with Schizoid personality disorder (SPD) hung out, they would probably not say a single word to each other. Either that or the Aspie would try to make feeble conversation with the person with SPD while looking in completely the wrong direction. The person with SPD would probably nod or grunt, and that would be the end of that discussion.
Two socially inept people were in a room together. One said to the other, "nice day." The other nodded and walked out.
Seriously, I don't think we'd make good companions. _________________ ACHTUNG all WP'ers...I will not be online from Aug 18th for a while due to a house move. I'm still alive and well but might not have internet access for some time. So long!

| I've always thought aspies would have a better chance at befriending/dating people where there's a partial language barrier, i.e. where each speaks the other's language but not very well. I would think the usual problems aspies have with making friends would then be absent, since social nuance would be abandoned in the mutual effort to make sure each understood the other strictly in words. |
