There are quite a few members on this site. I imagine that some of you must have.

As an aspie, it isn't really possible for me to fall in love. I have heard others claim that they have done it though. It is my own opinion that what they are really feeling is lust and not love.

There is another thread discussing the experimental use of OxyTocin (Pitocin) to induce love in aspies. While the drug can cause feelings of love, it also has side effects.

I have recently (in the past year) been in a relationship with a very nice boy who I know loves me, but I don't know that I really have the capacity to really love anyone in the way that comes to mind in a romantic relationship. I really do like the guy, but I feel the same towards both males and females, so that's why I don't think its really love.

Unless lust can last 6 years, I am empirical proof that aspies can fall in love...

For me, it was almost 12 years ago. She ended up cheating on me.

Before my current boyfriend, I had 3 serious relationships. The first one I didn't love but was very fond of. The second one I thought at the time I loved but realised I was just lusting after and infatuated with him. The third one I tried to love and didn't end up doing so. My current boyfriend is someone who shares my soul, is my best friend, accepts me for who I am and vice versa and I love him so much. I am actually taking a step I've never taken with a partner before this week - I'm moving in with him. So yeah, I guess you can say that, for the first time, I am really in love with someone.

I never thought i would find someone but about 18 months ago a freind introduced me to a girl and we just seemed to click as freinds. In time we both realised our feelings where stronger than just being freinds and it just kinda happened. She does her best to understand me and i realy apreciate that. She has made an effort which i realy apreciate unlike alot of female freinds.

She is physicaly disabled so is able to understand some things easier than alot of people would or so i feel. She certainly understands the lonlieness and what it is like to be bullied at school because you are not 'normal'.
