I just spend a week in San Antonio, Texas to visit my brother who is stationed there. It was hard to addapt to the change and not have my favorite things around but I enjoyed it. We just got home a few hours ago. I've been looking foward to working on my Power Point virtural museum ever since we borded the plane. I thought up some new ideas in San Antonio and couldn't want to use them. My neice comes in and wants to help me. I told her I needed a break from people for a while. When she came back fiftenn minuts later she sees me coloring in a Lion King coloring book and asks if she can play Zoo Tycoon. She puts the disc in and when she sees the TV show I am watching she runs over to sit next to me. She asks if she can color. I say yes, she talks me into ripping out a page for her. She colors Pumbaa's tucks black, his tounge orange and his hair red. Pumbaa is NOT those colors!. I know this is selfish but I can't stand it when people color things the wrong color. Espicaly my favorite characters. I'm sure she would feel the same way if I colored Hannah Montana's hair purple. I told her a needed another "people break" but she would move. I then tell my mom so she runs out of the room. My mom accuses me of being mean and selfish. My niece isn't going to be here for very long so I need to let her play on my computer. I did but she stopped to watch a TV program. I just spend at least five hours on a crowded plane and put up with my brother's whiney kids. Don't I deserve a break? I accidently ripped my meerkat sticker and there is no way to repair it. I told my mom, hoping she would help me feel better about it but instead she tells me she dosen't want to hear from me because I am so grumpy and mean. My parents KNOW (or at least I thought they did) that I need long breaks after being around people for extended periods of time. I asked to look at my niece's new dolphin necklace so I could design a virtural meerkat necklace based of of it and my dad yells, "No. She's been around too many people and can't!" My dad is always making fun of my AS related issues. I want to punch him sometimes and he deserves it. He then thinks I behaved very well the whole trip and that I should continue. I have a person and have a breaking point you know. I need a break now and then do hold it together. I've gotten really close to having a meltdown and just might if they say one more thing about me needed a "people break".

My parents can be the same way, and have been most of my life.. I'm 22 now. They don't really understand me and don't seem to try, and they make fun of me when I have problems.

Maybe try writing something down, even typing it or making it with Powerpoint(or anything that will keep you calm, really), that explains to them what you need. If you can do it calmly, without getting angry, they might try harder to listen to you.

It may feel like it's pointless but it's worth a shot, right? The worst that can happen is they'll stay the same.

As for the coloring... I totally know what you mean. I don't like when things are colored out of the lines, either. I understand it's a kid(usually..) but.. I dunno it's just wrong, heh.

My neice is thriteen years old and she knows Pumbaa's tusks are not black. Plus she totaly grafitied another page. That was downright rude. They don't make Lion King anything anymore.
