I was in a hospital for a month, by myself, no germs, no gluten/dairy (because they tasted bad at the time), and it didn't "cure" me.

Kind of a waste of money, but whatever.

Yeah, there was another thread about this last month. I'm all for it. I think they should put airlocks between all rooms in hospitals to try to prevent the further spread of disease.

Detoxify? Sounds vague enough to be plausible. Might work as long as you don't pick up something in the hospital you didn't have when you went in, like a staph infection. /sarcasm

Actually, if there's something to the toxins thing, then autism should improve by quitting smoking. Otherwise no.

Whether or not it'll have any impact on the autism I can't say, but (provided they use high-quality whole food supplements rather than crap synthetic analogues, as I assume they would) it would certainly help them anyway - I wish I was given a chance like that!! I wonder a couple of things though -

1 - Sunlight (direct sunlight on skin) plays a crucial role in keeping our immune systems strong because it triggers Vitamin D synthesis. It's impossible to overdose on it from the sun, but extremely easy to OD on it from supplements. Surely that should b taken into consideration?

2 - I may be aspie and happy to be on my own, but I love being around people too and I know I'd get really lonely in there on my own! Will other people be allowed in or will they be on their own the whole time?

they've got some lightbulbs that simulate sunlight. people who suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) use them to help them during winter. I assume they'd use something like that to do the same.

I believe they also said the family would be allowed to see them, and they would continue with their behavioural treatments and whatnot so i guess that means the therapists or psychologists would still be seeing them.

Parents can visit and there even is a couch in the room for a parent to stay overnight. Still... I'd go insane there... you can not imagine my meltdown if I had to spend 6 weeks in a strange environment without my plush animals who'd probably considered being toxic. This is torture!
