It can be a subject itself Math, science) If possible be specific (example mine was College Algebra other Algebra was easy.) perhaps it was a certain class subject you didn't like while going for your career etc. One class you wish you didn't have to take to become a doctor or whatever carreer path you are on. (IMO you must not want to become a doctor/lawyer/Psychologist if you are complaining about a class you have to TAKE TO BECOME ONE! but to all there own that's why I created this topic to see different views.)
As stated mine was College Algebra I would BE IN TEARS that class and the work was so stressful!! The teacher tried to show me but I couldn't wrap my mind around it!! IMO Psychology class>College Algebra!! I'd tell her sure I know it (I'd LIE!!!) and go on I'd then get C's and F's!!! Oddly Statistics (which I was taking before the suspension) was FUN and EASY! (probably due to a better/more fun teacher (he'd explain in english men to women or taking a shower buying a donut shop in PLAIN TERMS THAT YOU COULD UNDERSTAND!!!!) He'd also do "Fun Friday" where 1 student brought food/talked about an experience in there life vacation or whatever. I LOVED THAT TEACHER HE WAS A BLAST!!!! |

math was always my worst subject, and the teacher I had for 8th grade math didn't help much either. _________________ Humans are intelligent, but that doesn't make them smart. |

| In High School, Math and English. In college, Chemestry. More specific Chemestry Lab. Maybe the odor of chem labs turned me away? |

| My worst subject was Math. I actually like to play with numbers but I easily forget formulas to solve problems plus I read numbers backwards. |

Probably foreign languages in general.
I can't cope with how foreign languages are taught at school. I cannot understand how grammar works if I just get a list of rules thrown at me. I also can't understand how I others can memorize many words, their spelling, pronunciation and what they mean just by use of a list.
I easily learn the language naturally. But not in an environment that teachers me the language. I easily pick up phrases and grammar and vocabulary naturally.
I cannot understand that I am being taught a language in a classroom. To me, it is like being taught a code which rules and symbols I cannot memorize because nothing of it makes sense.
I cannot learn a langauge based on another language. Even my English and my German are in almost no way connected in my head. Both languages cannot be explained by another.
I have the image (let's say it's an image for the purpose of simplification) of a tree on my mind. Now the German word Baum, its meaning and the word English word tree and its meaning are both connected to the image - but not to each other. No connection, see?
Language = culture. I don't even talk like this in German. It's impossible. Total different culture. Even if I have a grain autism thrown in both cultural representations.
My brain just takes a vacation for the 45-minute foreign language classes. I can't help it.
Maybe I miss the brain part where foreign language are processed haha. _________________ The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. Terry Pratchett |

Math and only math. Addition, subtraction and multiplication made sense enough. Long division was kind of messy and confusing, but if I concentrated I could follow it. Fractions and to a lesser degree decimals made sense in a visually comprehensible way, but seemed like mental gymnastics on paper. Then algebra...WTF!?!
What brain surgeon's idea was it to replace unknown numerical values with characters representing SOUNDS?
R = rrrrrrr, that is NOT a number.
If you need a character to represent an unknown value, use a symbol universally recognized as A SYMBOL - like an asterisk or something. Jeepers. 5 X ::puh:: equals HUH?
EEK! AcK! aWk! GrK! PThtHt!
Is that the right answer? _________________ "I don't mean to sound bitter, cynical or cruel - but I am, so that's how it comes out."

Absolute Worst: PE
Second Worst: Spanish Foreign language.
Looking back, I think PE would have been awesome if it were tuned for aspies. It seems that all we did was run laps, do calisthenics and play football. All of which I hated. If they had swimming, weightlifting, or other stuff that didn't require as much coordination, I would have loved it.
PS-I always did really good in English, math and science. Calculus was a breeze, but I don't remember much about it any more. |

Aaauuuuggh! I had effectively blocked the PE experience from my conscious mind! :::falls under the desk and assumes a fetal position::: No...locker rooms...didn't...happen...showers...only a bad dream...laps...football...the horror...
I agree there were ways us socially and physically inept kids could have gotten physical exercise without social humiliation and abuse. If only someone had turned me on to weight training and left me alone in a room by myself or a handful of other geeks, we'd have become ritually obsessed with working out and gotten so physically intimidating the bullies would have been afraid to approach us... _________________ "I don't mean to sound bitter, cynical or cruel - but I am, so that's how it comes out."

| Mine was geophysics. Embarrassing indeed, since my parents are both geologists. But in my defense, the class was supposed to be a geology class focusing on the geology of the Berkshires, not a geophysics class obsessed with charting the independent rotation of the inner core. If it had been straight geology I would have flown through it, but as it was the really intense, advanced mathematical element threw me off. I remember being very frustrated and annoyed that the course description didn't match well with what was actually being taught. |
