Ha, yeah.

I find it cute how my mother calls me "flappy".

(He's also pacing in the video, which the person didn't mention.)

Autism is a whole heap of symptoms. Hand flapping is more common in autistic individuals, for many reasons; some like it for sensory, others due to feeling certain emotions strongly, and it shows excitement or fear (plus other reasons).

You'll find a couple of symptoms here and there in most people if you look hard enough.

Yes, it's adorable. There's another video on YouTube of a young girl flapping, and I love that video.

I still do that at the age of eighteen (I seem to do it more now, actually). My parents never really did try to stop me from doing it, though now when I get annoyed and flap at Mom she'll mirror what I do to tease me.

Er, probably because they didn't show any other signs of being autistic and shock! horror! hand flapping is something that babies/toddlers tend to do anyway

Yeah, didn't know THIS was the handflapping in question. I've seen a few babies do this before. Thought it was normal. Perhaps outgrowing it is the "normal" thing, not outgrowing it is a "symptom"?
