This is going to seem a bit weird, probably, coming from a 20-year-old man, but I find stuffed animals to e quite comforting. Does anyone else find this?

I don't think so and I'm twice 20. It's the NT's who'll tell you it's not OK but I don't think they know too much. After all, if everyone hugged their teddy surely the world would be a safer, kinder, more peaceful place.

Like the old coffee cup says "when all else fails, hug your teddy" Very Happy

I do, I am a 19yo guy and I still sleep with a wolf stuffed animal and one of my stims is that I like the feel of the fur against my skin. I can't even sleep without it and I really don't care what anyone else thinks. Its not hurting anyone so I don't see a problem with it and don't see why anyone else would.

I'm 15 years old and I still have beanie babies, neopet plushies, and a large black panther to hug. Very Happy

there is seriously nothing wrong with having a stuffed animal to hug and squish Wink

I have all my stuffed animals from when I was little in a box in my attic and I still love them and if I wasn't insecure they'd be on my bed like they always were. Very Happy

Oh sure, and I'm 39.

During some bad spells I've even put a small stuffed animal (or two) in the bottom of my lunchbox or bookbag or coat pocket (or car seat or...). Never took it out to where people could see, but I'd know it was there, sort of keeping me company.

I do. And honestly my wonnie the pooh has been locked up all these years because I was told by people it was stupid. But lately I have realized I am not them and when I have my teddy bear I feel less alone.

If you are really worried about social image then switch to really sof pillows and comforters.

My wolf is relaxing and comforting me right now and will be for the rest of the night. I was going to post on here about myself but I was afraid that I would be the only one.

I bring my stuffed animal with me on vacation and even to some friends houses when I am going to sleep over.

I only find real animals to be of any value. Sure, there's a lot of sentimental value with your favorite teddy bear (who currently sits in my closet after being retired many years ago--though I still use him as a prop in pictures/movies/etc if the situation calls) but I like the real deal since you can interact with them and they always listen to you--and never gossip or spread stories.

My best friends in my life have always been my dogs. I know of other people who say the same about their dogs and cats.

I have stuffed animals still and I am 38 Very Happy . I have a white fluffy stuffed polar bear and a stuffed dog. I also have a very soft pink flamingo and a few beanie babies. When I feel stressed out or overwhelmed by life I take some of my stuffed animals and hold them and it makes me feel much calmer. Another thing that I find soothing is the softness of stuffed animals. The world can be a very cruel, harsh place. When I hold or touch stuffed animals it makes me remember that, in spite of the sheer banality of life there are still good things in life. People have thought that I am weird because whenever I go into a gift shop and there are stuffed animals I pick one up and hug it. I pet them as if I am petting a real animal. I do like dogs and cats but stuffed animals are just as soothing to me and I don't have to feed or walk or take care of stuffed animals Very Happy . So, no, you are not the only person who likes stuffed animals and is soothed by them at all.

I have over 20 in my room 15 in my bed I can't sleep without my bunny Shawn, one of my stims is rubbing something furry on my face ,I love his ears .I have specific stuffed animals with very particular textures of fur that I like to touch and some types of fake fur drive me mad the texture is so annoying especially the new super soft oily feeling ones there are so many of now. I really don't care what people think mostly I even took Shawn to hospital with me a couple of weeks ago and I am 38. I have three duplicates of him for when one falls apart I guess that's strange , but I used to get upset a lot when various ones can't be replaced because it's hard to find a new replacement that feels similar. I have had stuffed rabbits with the same name of various designs since third grade.
