My dad does.
I kind of consider it a sport since it includes a challenge and competition.
Not to mention it exercises those muscles in your brain. Makes you smarter. _________________ Oh you can't help that. We're all mad here.

i think a sport should require a physical component. chess is a very challenging game and requires a lot of skill to be good at it but i don't consider it a sport.

I don't know...it requires a lot of thinking, but just because it's a club doesn't mean it's a sport (drama anyone?) _________________ "You can do the math a thousand way, but you can't undo the past"

I would say chess is a game, like poker or Scrabble or Monopoly. _________________ „It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not.”

I would say yes it is cos it requires tactics, skill n u do compete against each other sport is not always has 2 b physical chess comes underneath as passive just like darts 4 example n basketball comes underneath as a active sport.

Yes, chess is a sport of the mind. I would play if I had someone to play with. _________________ Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.

There isn't much physical activity involved in chess.
I've always been good at it for some reason, never really studied it properly. I find the game a bit of an arm wrestle, once you have the advantage over your oponent, there is usually no way for them to recover.

I don't consider chess as a sport, but as a board game and in general board games aren't classed as "sport" anyway. _________________ The hero is no braver than the ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer

I consider chess a sport. It's really competitive and people can spend their whole lives being trained and coached to become a grand master. A lot of GMs have made a living by winning chess tournaments. They're basically the same as athletes.
