The other day, I posted a personal ad on Craig's List.
I received three replys.
The first two were underage
and the third reply attached a picture.
The last reply's picture showed that she had maneater vibes.
So I deleted hers as well.
So, has anyone tried online personal ads?
If so, what were your results?

I was on plentyoffish for a few months, and I did have a few correspondences, but I only met one of them in person. We only met once. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

Meh, with online sites there's a lot of crud out there. Being a gal I've gotten a lot of naughty bits photos, and promptly deleted those. Ick. First thing, to show a pic of that? Classy! But I've also met a friend through doing an online ad, and I've had quite a few good dates. If you're a guy it's probably a lot safer going the online route for dating (physically at least). It's hit and miss, but dating through friends is even more hit and miss, for me at least.
The thing with posting on CL is that you need to say something beyond the "interested in getting to know someone on a deeper level" schlock. Say what your interests/needs are and you'll probably get a better response. Or post something funny, I got a few responses from putting up what bands I was interested in and seeking companionship based on musical taste. Good luck! _________________ There are only 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary and those who don't. |

I met my bf on a dating site. As long as you're careful and meet in a public place, it's safe. Just take the time to get to know them over AIM or something and talk on the phone a few times before meeting in person (if you're comfortable talking on the phone) and if you get the feeling they're a creep, don't agree to meet. _________________ ~*Jen*~ |

I got one reply from a guy claiming he wanted to use me for his art.
And then I got another from a guy who was bi offering to give me a BJ.
Long story short, do what works for you.
I personally have found much better results wandering around and chatting people up. Eventually I learned how women work and feel and now am able to go from Hi to number to firs date.

I use match.com quite a bit and like it. I've met a couple dozen men over the past few years. It's very safe, as long as you use common sense. I'm not the type to get in a car with someone I don't know, or leave my drink to use the restroom, so I really don't have any fears about it. It's no different than picking up someone in a bar.
Craigslist is just scary, no way I'd use that. |

Just received three more replies today.
All did not give their age, so how can they
be asked their age without me sounding
like an awkward jerk?
Reason?
I am looking for a GF between 18-20.
Before I start sounding like TimTex,
my ideal GF must be a liberal and is Catholic.
PS: One of them was kind enough to send a picture,
but I was unable to open it. _________________ It's time to introduce a little anarchy. |

I don't think it's wrong to specify the age and religion of the person you're interested in dating. Just ask how old they are. |

I re-joined plentyoffish.
Plenty of Cougars is more like it.
Judging by the profiles I saw on there, I am still defending my limiting myself to other Aspies. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

I would assume most catholics are conservative. That's probably what he means. _________________ Current obsessions: Economic and Political issues

My point exactly. The whole reason I left the Catholic Church is because they were too conservative.

I have noticed that mainline Protestants (Lutherans, Episcopalians/Anglicans, Presbyterians, etc.) are the most liberal when it comes to Christian denominations. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!
