Ever try silencing the insincere questions with real answers?

What's up?
Any radial vector drawn from a reference planet's centroid of mass.

How do you do?
By metabolizing food.

I've never figured how to answer those the accepted way.

IF 'How are you?'
THEN 'I'm great, thanks!'

IF 'How's it going?'
THEN 'Great, thanks!'

It works much easier if you can just program yourself to spit out meanless statements in much the same way the meaningless statements are sent out in the first place.

I've found in answer to most any nonsensical question.. use "It's %currentdayofweek%" that seems to satisfy them and let me get on with my day.

I don't feel most people want real answers.
They want superficial replies. If someone says to me "Whats Up? I am going to reply "hey ____, good to see you" I feel most people are too self absorbed and wrapped up in their own life to be concerned with mine.

My personal favorite is:
"What's up?"
"Remarkably little."

I say "stuff" instead of "nothing" when someone asks whats up.

Brilliant OP! Laughing Laughing

Reminds me of how I used to answer to:
"Sorry I haven't had time to call you"
with:
"You've had 24 hours a day like everyone else; what you chose to do with them is another story."

- I am sorely tempted on hearing the 'see you later' 'verbal communication' to ask precisely when - as to me, it implies that there is either an appointed time that we have both agreed on or that it will be the same day.

I detest 'laters' - this answer is 'probably, yes' - unless there is a meteorite heading towards earth that I don't know about - but , even so 'yes' again - even if the world / universe / multiverses are on the edge of dooms and oblivion there is always going to be a 'laters'. In truth I consider it to be a noun.

I once did this one:
"I'll call you."
"No, you won't and we both know it."

I'm always amused when someone says "How are you?" and breezing by leaving no opportunity for even the briefest answer. Though at least it saves me the trouble of answering. I so don't like the how are you thing. One of the few times I'll lie. Usually when I'm not so good, something on my mind's got me down, and what's on my mind is none of their business even if they did want a sincere answer.
