Ever since I was a little child, I hated clothing that constricted me in any way. I didn't like waistbands and I absolutely detested slacks and trousers. I would make a fuss on the rare occasions when I was forced to wear them, and I spent most of my childhood wearing muumuus (not quite as odd as it might seem, as I was living in Hawaii).
These days I've made my peace with waistbands and often wear skirts, though usually in soft, stretchy materials with an elastic waist. I still don't wear trousers. Ever. I don't really know how anyone can stand them.
Anyone else feel this way and habitually wear skirts? And what other problems with clothing have you experienced? |

Sometimes I think half the reason I studied dance was so I could get away with wearing clothing of pj like comfort almost all the time. |

I've always leaned toward the baggy, but I've never worn a skirt. Most of the time when I'm home, I'm not wearing anything at all for the very reasons you mentioned. I would literally rather go naked than wear uncomfortable clothes.
PS - I'm male and never really had a skirt fetish. |

| Heh, i hear the whole clothing issue. When its hot out or some such stuff i tend to go bottomless or even full nude in my own room. Feels great at times, very comfy. But when i go out of my room and such i will wear clothes and such to keep everybody else from freaking. When i'm still at home i'll wear my Karate gi pants, very loose fitting. |

Loose fitting skirts in hot weather. I even hike in them. I'm sure I look really weird, next to all the serious hikers in goretex.
Relaxed fit jeans for winter, or heavier weight skirts from time to time.
For me the big issue is heat - pants are too hot in warm weather. But it has to be loose fitting, too. As long as it's snug around the waist - that's the only tightness I can handle most of the time. |

I'm almost always in some kind of lounge wear, except at work, so I just try to find soft cottony-material _________________ Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein |

Pants I have no problem with, as long as they're loose fitting, I just have to adjust them now and then.
Shirts are where my main problems lie. _________________ How wonderful to be so profound. |

Haha!!!! That is one of my defining characteristics.
I used to get picked on up until elementary school since I *NEVER* wore pants (and for gym class I only wore sweats since they were as loose as possible,a nd was basically forced into them)
Even now, if I happen to wear pants, everyone is like "OMG!!! YOU'RE WEARING PANTS!!!!!!!! O_O"... even if they've seen me in pants before
I <3 skirts, but on the contrary, hate dresses (don't seem to hang right)-- All skirts HAVE to be waist height, I cannot stand ANYTHING going across my stomach (I swear its hypersensitive, and gives me a stomach ache if somethings over it...).
Then, the skirt length has to be full length (to the ANKLES, not above the ankles, just below, and if too long, I roll up the band a little so I can walk), if its above the ankles I won't wear it. Or it's knee length, if its above knee I won't wear, if its half-length like shin or something, I won't wear it.
Then its gotta be pretty ^_^;;
About pants... I refuse to wear jeans, they are the most uncomfortable things in the world. I do have some pants though, I have 2 or 3 pairs of these black pants that are like... so loose and stuff my friends are just like "Jaimie... that looks like a skirt =_=" so only half the time do ppl even realize they are pants >.>
BUT!!!! I bought a pair of cargo pants last year!!!!!!! they're tighter than what I normally wear but still comfy.. (on a whim I went to try them on, then called mom and asked whats a good price for pants, and she was like "well how much are they?" "60 dollars" "get them, they are a little expensive, but you never get any pants and need them" >.>), got them from um... gap? not old navy... levis? is there a levi store? I dunno... they're grey and I like them (took me another 2 hours to find a belt... x_x), but think because they WERE more expensive, theres no yucky seams on the inside or yucky material, so feel alright
I have issues with shirts too.... basically. No sleeves. Ever. Which was a major problem in high school.. since spaggetti straps weren't allowed, and tank-top shirts needed atleast a 2" band to be allowed. I managed to get through though, by wearing a loose jacket all the time (cold anyways), occasional shirt with mock-sleaves, or just avoided assistant principal XD |

| For me I found wearing skirts were uncomfortable as well as tight pants when I was young. Im fond of wearing loose shorts and t-shirts which I would do year around back home in the warm climate. Now I wear pants a lot more because while the winters in LA arent that cold, it'd be too cold to wear shorts all the time. Im more ok with tight clothes now. |

Adverb wore a skirt for a couple of days once. It suited him because he's a nonconformist. _________________ God protects fools. Be a fool.

Aye, but what if you're out on the moors and a nor'easter wind comes up? Ach, ye sporran wouldn't offer much protection then.

That would be too much too quickly. I mean, if I do start wearing skirts, it would have to be a smooth transition. Like: trousers > shorts > long kilt > short kilt > skirt. It would have to be a skirt of the non-flowery variety too, or people would ask questions. _________________ ACHTUNG all WP'ers...I will not be online from Aug 18th for a while due to a house move.
