What are some difficulties you ahve had that are not simmilar to your average aspergers case that you can say is related to NLD. The only one I can think of is having a difficulty visualising objects. I want to see what really determines the difference between NLD and Aspergers and I am wondering if it more than just a difficulty visualising objects _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |

Good luck... It seems that NVLD is about as similar to AS as HFA is! The three might as well be the same as psychiatrists are more and more flexible. As for the visualizing, I wonder how good some AS people are. As I have often said, it is almost like feeling with me. My internal vision DOES seem to be getting better. I am going to have to really try to push it. Still, if you can visualize something, you can generally remember it well. yet so many here speak of poor short term memory. I have learned complicated words in a SECOND and, after years, not forgotten them, due to using old threads of memory. |

Maybe you have NLD, I can do that too. NLD is a new diagnosis. You have to take psychiatric to testing to be able to differentiate between NLD and AS as far as i know. I have take the test an I am officially diagnosed. _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |

| If you ask me NVLD is basically very mild Asperger's. I have some NVLD as well as Asperger's of course. I easily get lost and find it hard to follow verbal directions. |

There is an 80% simmilarity. I t is possible for both to overlap. I am very orrible visually and much better with words than visual information. I want to see what the differences are. I could agree that it is a variation of aspergers. _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |

According to Wikipedia: "...as high as 80% of Asperger's Disorder persons have neuro-psychological profiles consistent with NLD."
So.... you're pretty much talking to most of the aspies here
It would take me all night to describe all the ways NVLD affects me
....but I've been wondering lately: is NVLD the reason why Rubik's Cubes make absolutely no sense to me? _________________ Do I have a formal diagnosis?
That's still a subject of debate, and I still don't understand why this question is so difficult to answer.
Meow meow, meow, meow meow meow.

I am not sure I do have a hard time with visualizing information and objects. I do remeber getting frustrated with rubiks cubes. _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |

is there anything else you can think about that has been difficult for you? I am curious what make NVLD (NLD) different from aspergers. _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |

What do you mean by visualizing information? I'm confused. Seeing in pictures? Is this a photographic memory?
My son has been diagnosed with NVLD and pdd-nos (mild). He has always had a difficult time with directions (verbal) and finding items. Yet, if he puts it somewhere, he can find it instantly no matter where it is because of his excellent memory for details.
He has told me that he can recall visual media in his head (vividly in color) and has fabulous recall and long term memory.
He has difficulty with some basic math but is interested in science and physics (3D, 4D).
He thinks he has dyslexia ( :
His spelling is not so good, but he is only nine-years old. He has an aversion to subtraction (not sure why).
He has a strong interest in anything related to creating newsprint, publishing, media.
Our floor is covered with newspapers on a daily basis. (hope this helps) |

I always thought part of the diagnosis was bad visual recall _________________ A person that does not think he has problems already has one-Me |
