I imagine some of you have already taken this test, but let's face it, aren't these threads fun? Smile

The average score for aspies is 35 out of 50.

I scored 38.

Of course, that score doesn't mean I'm an aspie, just that I still haven't been kicked out of the running.

45

I do prefer going to the theatre rather than the museum (see: movies), as museums have a zillion and one schoolchildren running around them every day.

Around 30 is the PDD cut-off in some institutions (some say 28, others 32), i.e., it's worth checking it out further if you score over 30 and you're experiencing problems.

I also remember reading that around 40% of those who score high who aren't diagnosed, actually have one of the [diagnosable] conditions (AS or HFA).

General mean of my AQ scores is 40.

And yes, that question about theatre vs. museum. I prefer the theatre above the museum because of totally different reasons... Music! Dancing! I love it!

43 this time around. It varies a bit depending on my mood and situation (so many "slightly"-options), but usually it's around 42. I actually thought I'd already posted my score at another thread, but it doesn't look that way.

And no, I'm not diagnosed. They don't seem to pick up these kinds of problems with the "good girls", even if they have no idea how to interact with their peers, as long as they otherwise do well at school. Well, at least 10 to 20 years ago.

34, diagnosed

Hate this test though, there are so many stereotypes that I know don't apply to a lot of female aspies. And like, I love social situations sometimes, it just depends on my mood. Other times I hate it. I would rather to go to a party than a library because I hate missing out on things, even if I do just hover in the background. I love the theatre rather than a museum because I love the atmosphere and music and dancing and singing. I hate numbers because I can't do maths, and I do find it relatively easy to do the empathy thing - the whole thing just works on Rain Man stereotypes. They really ought to update it a bit; not all aspies are recluses who hate interacting and socialising and would rather sit in a library or museum all day and do numbers. Seriously! I may not be able to *do* it right and I may make an ass of myself more often than I'd like to think, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy trying!
