Am I the only one that just can't learn to walk in heels? I've tried, really hard, because I hate looking stupid in public. I would just give up on them but I want to look nice, I no longer need to find a man but I want to keep my man, and he likes when I look nice. We go out to nightclubs occasionally and it involves my getting dressed up.. any tips? :/
I know I can do flats or any other types of shoes.. but I have three pairs of heels and I love them! |

| Haha, no youre not the only one. I stopped wearing heels because I could not figure how to walk. I'd be walking down a hallway, and then forget how to move in them. is it hell toe or toe heel? and the steps were so awkward i felt i mustve looked like i was clunking around, and they hurt. it got to the point where i couldnt move my leg because i wasnt sure what to do with it. the only thing i know that helps is wearing them all the time to get used to them. dont take them off- at home, when you use the restroom, go to the supermarket, exercise (maybe just twice), wear them to get used to different fast paced, slow paced motions. i like wearing flats, but sometime you just have to wear a heel lol. also, sling back heels are very easy and comfortable to walk in. i have no problem in those, but the classic heel is a crazy thing. i also heard that the thicker and lower the heel the easier to walk, so for practice you should start with your tallest, skinniest one. |

I can walk reasonably well in heels, hell I can even run in them!! But I don't like wearing them because my feet really really hurt at the end of the day (apart from when I wear wedged heels as I find them comfortable). I spend most of my time in flat sandals or trainers. _________________ Normal=average

don't know why this isn't in women's issues...
It probably depends on whether you're going for sensible elevation, or FMP's...
I obviously have no idea, but I would imagine it's toe-heel...
There's more than one way to look good. If he's sensible, you've obviously won him over. |

actually, no, it's heel-toe, it's practically impossible to walk toe-heel or to tiptoe in heels....well, it's possible but i't incredibly hard and looks stupid |

See, I thought it was toe-heel as well. And my boyfriend and his friend made fun of me because I looked stupid trying to walk like that
I know I don't need them, but I think I could look nice in them and would love to actually look girly once in awhile.
Once I get a room that's not in the basement(bad flooring) I think I will start walking around the house in my heels..
And men can reply too! Men occasionally wear heels
The worst part is that my boyfriend put my heels on just once, to amuse me, and he could walk better in them than I could! No fair. |

see...that's what ya get from listening to a guy...
I had cowboy boots with a 1" heel once, but that's as close as I got...
I always think of heels as those portable torture devices with a stilleto, that would break if you brought your weight down on them the wrong way... There's guys out there who are experts on them, I hear (the pervs... , but I'm not one of them... |

| I really do think heels are dangerous unless they are only small heels. Anything more than about 2" and you're starting to push your luck. I never could get used to wearing heels. |

What's FMPs?
Me, I don't wear heels. I don't see any point. I really don't need or desire to be taller than I am (5'8"). And I like shoes I can comfortably walk in. And it's been so long since I've worn heals that I've no clue how well I walk in them. |

"F*ck Me" Pumps (very high heeled "sexy" shoes). "Come hither" footwear.
I like how high heels look but find that they are utterly imposssible to wear for getting anything done or going anywhere. Too uncomfortable-compresses toes sideways as well as putting all the body's weight upon one's toes. Keep a pair in closet just to drag out once a year & wear around my apartment (I can walk in them for a couple minutes), then take them off & forget about them. _________________ *"You cannot administer a wicked law impartially-it destroys everyone it touches, its violators as well as its upholders."* |

I'm 5'8" as well.. and kind of a big girl.. so I also sort of feel like I'm on stilts when I wear heels. But feeling sexy is difficult when you're big, and clumsy, and can't even wear makeup properly(I always end up looking like a man in drag somehow). I even have wedges that should be easy to walk in but aren't.
I don't walk like a "normal" girl anyway.. maybe that's part of it? I've always walked strange, to the point of my mom making fun of me, a lot. I almost want to get one of those actual like.. walking teachers.. the ones that teach girls in beauty pagents and models to walk, to help me. |

I'm not very good with them either, but I have gotten better with practice - now I can even run in heels! (Actually, they're often easier to run in than to walk in.)
Selecting shoes with thick heels makes a big difference because, obviously, they give you more support. And I think that the right boots with thick heels can look hot on just about any woman. |

No, there are actually events and situations in which women are required (sometimes officially, sometimes just through extreme social pressure) to wear heels - like "formal occasions" and even some jobs.
I try to avoid these kinds of things, but they are not completely unavoidable, like when a relative gets married and has a formal type of wedding, for example. |

I find high heels completely stupid, I don't think women should wear them, because I think they are really bad for your feet and back.
Crocs, now a woman that wears them, they are sexy!!! |
