Okay - I just love this place and see the full spectrum of HFA and Aspies.
But recently due to unfortunate events, I have become the most outgoing person I have ver been.
But still clearing displaying Aspie traits, but like totally gregarious.
I ditched any caffeine, took up a horrid beer slurping hbit, dumped any meds for anti-anxiety, food choking and panic attacks and all.
And all these negatives things in my life are gone.
So am I still an Aspie or what?
Anyone else go thu this before and do you drink caffeine in your daily routine? _________________ When you grow up you'll be put in a container called a cubicle. i too am a gregarious aspie, especialy when alcohol is invovled, so much so i ended up with a 7 year drink problem! not good!
i would not recommend the beer option, but dropping caffine is a good start! i have never felt better since i went organic (boring) and stopped filling my body with drugs, eg prozac, diazepam etc...
remember, if its new, it aint you! |

Drink can be dangerous. I had to reconstruct my life from scratch because of it. I don't know when to say when. Not good.
I can also be very gregarious, when I get started. It can be either really funny or annoying or pesky and really obnoxious, depending on how relaxed and "free" I'm feeling.
The freer for me, the less fortunate for others... unfortunately.
I try to strike a fine balance between being completely stoic and running my mouth to no end.
Above all, I try to stay out of trouble, which is a challenge for me |

haha... yea... I'm that way also when I drink... kind of why I spent the first half of the 90's drunk and really don't remember anything from 1990 until 1998... la la la la... I think I did stuff but hell if I know what. _________________ When in trouble or in doubt; run in circles scream and shout. |

Yeah, I didn't become a gregarious Aspie until I had a few drinks in me, then I was the belle of the bar! (NOT!) An Aspie drunk is still a drunk, I would stride down the Interstate Highway (I-5) holding out my hand and striking a Zena/Red Sonja pose every few yards and boy, did it disrupt traffic!
(I haven't done that since 1982, come to think of it. . .)

To clarify - I am way outgoing - the beer just makes it more fun! _________________ When you grow up you'll be put in a container called a cubicle. I spent 16-26 being an NT through the use and abuse of chemicals. I think it works because it slows down the sensory issues and logical thinking process. That lessons CNS over stimulation and makes you not care if your stupid...what bliss, huh? people responded much better to me as well...evidently nothing is more popular then a drunk, young stupid girl . Most importantly, it made me not see how stuipid others were.....I think I prefer being a cave dweller. _________________ Just because one plane is flying out of formation, doesnt mean the formation is on course....R.D.Lang

I work the midnight shift, so caffeine and I are best friends. _________________ MAC

Gregarious? Sometimes.
Aspie? Either that or I'm a half-aspie. I'm sure not a neurotypical.
Caffeine? Not very often. Not as a regular thing, and never in the morning. Only when I choose diet coke over water or iced tea, or else (rarely) when driving late at night for more than a half hour or so. |

| I become more gregarious when drunk too, and somewhat louder. Being slightly drunk is the only way I can socialize in public without feeling anxious. |

| You're still an aspie, though you may also become an alcoholic if you keep up that "horrid beer-slurping". |

you can still be an alcoholic even if you don't keep up the beer-slurping.
