Is there an add-on or some way that would allow me to have a secret stash of bookmarks in firefox? There are some websites I'd like to bookmark on my laptop but don't want anyone else to see.

(Just so you know, I don't plan on doing anything perverted or illegal)

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe not secret, but I'm pretty sure that the bookmarks are tied to the user. If more than one person uses your computer, then you should create multiple user accounts with XP. When you turn on the computer, you are asked to sign in or at least pick your user name. Each user gets his own set of unique bookmarks and even desktop.

You can also give yourself reduced privileges that help prevent getting viruses. That's not a big concern for Firefox users, but it can happen. It just means that you have to log in as administrator to install new software, but how often do you need to do that?

My brothers use my computer to play games and watch movies. I know about about setting extra user accounts, but it's a hassle. I also don't want to have an extra account for even more files. I'm trying to keep the files on my computer to a minimum.

Changing privileges is a hassle, especially if it's harder to download software.

Thanks for the response though.

Besides exporting your bookmarks into a safe file your brothers aren't likely to look into, then deleting your bookmarks from the Firefox browser when you're done with your session, and then importing them every time from that safe file when you start a new session, I don't really know of anything you can do.

You can try Online Bookmark Manager - StartAid 1.4, it has your bookmarks online, I'm not sure if they'd still be saved to your hard drive or not, if not it should be safe to delete the bookmarks from your HD and just use the online account. I'd export a copy beforehand just to be safe.
