I got into a discussion a while back about some of the places I have been and promised to post some pictures of the mountains and beaches I have been to. Here are some. I will post some more in time.
I love seeing pictures of mountains and beaches. Feel free to add some of your own if you like.

Here's some pics of Pilot Mountain, which is only about 20 minutes from where I live (I give distance by the time it takes to get there)
Looking at it on this side, it looks like a saddle, or at least my cousin thinks so.
But looking at it from this side, it kinda looks like a..........

 Mountains are one of my, *ahem*, hobbies. Unfortunately I'm not in a financial situation conducive to a lot of traveling.  So I live through Wikipedia and Google Earth.
We don't have real mountains around here. The closes thing is The Catskills. 10X more fun when the top is still iced over.
The next best thing to that is the Highlands and the Ridge and Valley Appalachians, neither of which break 2000'  . The Delaware Water Gap has the best vertical relief in New Jersey (not my picture).
My favorite mountain (currently) is Machapuchare in the Annapurna range, Nepal. Rising an unheard of ~19,000 feet above Pokhara, the Annapurna Mountains have the most spectacular visible rises I have found yet. (Also not my image)
Although technically I don't think calling the Catskills mountains is at all proper, because despite their height (the top of Slide is about 4100', making it among the higher points in the northern parts of the Appalachians proper), they are actually the remnant of a very eroded plateau. Ironically, the Ridge and Valley Appalachians and the Highlands are actually proper mountains, I think.
Geology factoid: the Catskills are on the site of what is known as the Catskills Delta, which was a marshy region between the inland sea to the west and the ancient Acadian Mountains to the East. Hiking up Slide, the sandstone is eroded into this lovely sandy pathway, peppered by quartz and pebbles so that is almost resembles something you'd expect to find near an ocean.
Edit: And while I'm here, it isn't quite a mountain or a beach, but it's almost both, but Salar De Uyuni is without a doubt the most awesome place on earth.

This is a really nice picture. I always loved the trees changing color in the fall. That is one thing I do miss about growing up back east.

Did you take this picture? It is a real nice one. It gives a feeling of vastness while also purity. Having the tree in the foreground is cool.
Shame you can't travel more. Since you love mountains, I don't know if you ever have had a chance to come out west, but they are all over here (as you probably know).
Peppered with quartz eh? Now I wonder what that sounds like as you walk on it? Does the mountain side sparkle in the sunlight?

Dude! This is awesome.
With the river and trees in it, it makes it feel like the mountain is taller than it is... like it is rising high up into the sky. Do they allow camping on this or is it privately owned? I think it would be neat to go hiking on this.

I would love to come to Maine. I have seen pictures of Acadia National Park and I would really enjoy exploring there.

Thanks. Took it a little bit below the summit of Slide Mountain. I'd wanted to do a panorama of the Northern Catskills but unfortunately I wound up with a bit of a gap 
I love the Montana picture by the way. Is that Glacier National Park? I'm so jealous.
The quartz is actually in these big dull white pebbles like this, so it isn't much to look at, but it's kind of cute in a way. Sort of a garden path feel.
