I don't see what's wrong with using the horn on people who drive 25 km/h below the speed limit, but unnecessary use of it annoys me like hell.

The car horn is something that is the bane of driving, or just living in a society that is dependent on cars. There’s nothing like having the crap scared out of you while driving because someone thought it would be a wise idea to honk their horn at you in an attempt to get your attention.
Better yet, there’s the person who abuses their horn because they are simply too lazy to get out of their vehicle and knock on someone’s door to let them know they have arrived to pick them up.
Car horns were meant has a way to warn others. Not to say “Hi!” or alert everyone within earshot of your arrival.

What i hate is something they do here. if someone sees someone they know walking down the street they will start honking at them. this always causes me to look around and wonder who the hell they are honking at. and if I'm the only one why they are honking at me.
the total worst abuse though is the stupid sports assholes whenever the local high school team wins about 20 or 30 cars drive slowly around the neighborhood honking their horns as loud and as often as possible. I just want to go out there with an anti tank weapon and blast every car I can find when that happens....

| Several drivers honk at me when I'm walking down the street. The thing is that they honk right when they get to me so I can never see who it is, as the car goes by so fast. Therefore it is pointless. |

The most irritating horn self abusers are those that honk at someone stuck in front of them at an intersection with steam billowing out from under the hood, as if honking the horn will take care of someones overheating problem.  |

Seconded.
for am it's a meltdown setoff,especially the long or over and over beeping type,am especially hate the ones who used it with no need,and those who are such lazy idiots they cant be bothered to get out of the car to get someone so they use the horn instead,and those who see am wearing ear defenders drive up from behind and keep triggering the horn.
am would like all of those to have an autistic brain just for one day to see what its like to have pillocks randomly beeping the horn and all the other brain crippling noises that are greeted with.
maybe if someone glued a hearing aid to each ear with volume on full,for the day they would soon see how it affects others.

| I can't stand those people with car alarms to where every time the activate it it honks once, once is OK but they keep pushing that damn button making the car honk X amount of times. Drives me nuts! |

Yes, sudden honks can startle and thus take your attention off the road. I last used my car horn when someone almost ran right into my car from inattention; they were crossed well over into my lane. |
