| Go to the library and get some books on acting that have pictures of so called emotions memorize the basic ones that you may need to use. |

| Seek social skills training programs in your area. I attended one for a year and it was moderately helpful, and featured at least one class connecting emotions to faces among many other things. |

Faking out? Do you mean "deceive?"
So-called emotions? |

Don't ask don't tell.
If they can't figure it out don't let them know. |

| So this is a plan to simulate emotions in yourself and by doing so fool others? Do you guys lack emotion or just the ability to emote them? |

Yeah, live isolated from the majority of the population. That'll show them.
Unless you're written by Camus, it's unlikely that other people care about your ability to show emotion so there's no need for the stand-offish tone.
It is useful to learn the language if you want to interact with people though, though I'm a bit wierded out by these reference books of human feeling that exist. Just watch films. |

I certainly have no shortage of emotions, but they are slow in activating and don't show naturally until they reach extreme levels. I can see the merit in practicing showing mild emotion. |

| People often tell me I "don't look autistic". How is an autistic person supposed to look? Just come home with me and wait for something bad to happen and watch me have a meltdown. Then tell me I don't "look Autstic". I can only put on the NT show for so long and only when I am out of the house. My house is MINE. I will act like however I feel in my santuary. I don't give free shows. |

Very well said!!! I think it`s grossly offensive for someone to say "You dont look Autistic."
It makes us feel like a liar or fraud or something nasty. And people say people with Autism and Aspergers are tackless. Bloody hell! |

On of the biggest problem I have seen with adult Aspies is that it is hard to really believe you are different so you consistently think people will act the way you do. It stops Aspies from treating NTs as a different animal. Once you know NTs are different dealing with them is way easier. Predicting their behaviour no long includes "well I would do." It moves to "my observation has been." Then suddenly everything becomes a LOT easier.

| If it were really that easy, nobody would ever seem out of place in social situations. But since it's such a widespread issue, there must be more components to it than just facial expressions. |
