This is a moot question for me, due to my age, and back when I was of military age I drew a high draft number, so I can't be sure what I would have done if I had been drafted, I only know what I like to think I would have done.
For those who are of military age, what would you do if the United States were to bring back the draft to support the war on terrorism; would you go, flee the country, or go to jail? _________________ I am not like normal people

hell no.
if it were over a real war, i'd gladly go but this administration has been starting wars over false pretenses (iraq and quite possibly iran) and i'm not about to become their expendable little tool. |

Hell yes, your hairs a mess!
Sorry. I just had to quote Bloom County. I am a fan!
Dont forget you have alternate services, and/or a a medical condition that would free you from service. _________________ davidred writes...

I would do whatever was in my power to avoid a draft in a war against a made up threatening foreign entity, like Iraq or Iran. I would happily join up to defend our homeland against an invading enemy.
Anyway, they've upped the draftable age, haven't they? and lowered their standards and such. Besides fleeing the country, I'd have to hope they didn't want a fat loaf, failing that I'd act as cuckoo as possible or something and would take prison before becoming a meat shield. _________________ The world under heaven, after a long period of division, tends to unite; after a long period of union, tends to divide. I'd try to use Autism to get out of it. Failing that, tell them to go screw themselves and make a big deal over doing the whole "civil disobedience" thing. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

I would disobey the government, even violently, if necessary. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

Not surprised
Then again why be a man when you can
be a hero? Get your legs blown off
Be a hero
The choice is yours
You go in now you pull Iran
I would pull Iran with you but
Im waiting for the border war
Im all over that one
with a Bowie in one hand and Old Glory in the
other, I will defend this nation from Mexico
Remember the Alamo

It's not part of my nature--I wouldn't consider myself violent even to the insect, but if I am called for service then I am called for service. I find such a scenario doubtful though.
If anything, I'd probably be in a monastery before such a bill would actually come to pass. _________________ I'm no democRAT, I'm a republiCAN! |

I'd probably claim conscientious objection. Either that, or get out of it using Asperger's or the fact that I have eyesight problems.
Most likely, though, I wouldn't even be drafted because I'm female. _________________ Insert witty quote here. |

OK, maybe I would become a meat shield
