Wasnt 4th July day the day America became independent, I think only America would celibrate it, like you guys don't celibrate ANZAC day, but a town in France does.

Ah, but he didn't ask if the celebrate it, but if they have it.

They have the fourth of July, but not the Fourth of July. Smile And not July 4th, because they speak and write funny over there. Wink

Actually according to my high school US/VA History Teacher, the DOI was signed on July 3rd, 1776 but we celebrated its signing on the 4th.

They have it here in Gehenna as well, only we can't tell when it is day or night. Plenty of fireworks, though.

Britain would have plenty of reason to celebrate it if they wanted, but obviously they don't.

England celebrates Guy Fawkes (sp?) Day sometime in November. I don't remember the actual date. I believe that's the closest celebration of the USA's Independence Day except that Brits celebrate the gruesome execution of Guy Fawkes. I forget the precise history of what he did, but I do remember that he was taken to the Tower of London to be killed. Very weird thing to celebrate in my opinion. Hopefully a Brit can better explain it.

I read over a more actually website which does have August 2nd as the signing but this is the enlarged copy that is in the National Achieves today. July 2nd is when the US declares independence from Britain which was fulling ratified by all colonies by the third which we actually adopted DOI on but it is stated in the early morning of July 4th. http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/timeline.htm

America celebrates Cinco de Mayo (big drinking day) so I don't see what stops the rest of the world from celebrating how much amazing awesomeness we are. Wink
