Vista keeps opening my sites in another window than what I typed them into.

For example right now I have 3 windows open - wrong planet, pogo solitaire, and netflix. The first time I went to wrong planet, vista opened it in both this window and the pogo solitaire game. When I searched for an unfamiliar name in this window, vista did the search in the netflix window - thereby stopping my movie for the third time. If i was the least bit interested in searching in the netflix window I wouldn't have typed the search into the WP window.

How can I turn this stupid thing off. It seems to me that I'm doing something to cause it - ie maybe dragging one window on top of the other. This is the most stupid feature Ive ever seen or heard about

Insert Ubuntu CD and reboot... that should fix it Wink

I hate Vista and curse it every day. Unfortunately I have to use it for work stuff - except for the other day when all the Vista security simply would not let me finish my work!!!! I had to switch to an XP computer just to get the job finished. God I hate Vista, everything takes longer to do, more sitting around waiting for it to do something, more mouse clicks to do the same thing as in XP, more unwanted dialoge boxes to answer.

I can't even run Microsoft's own software without getting warning messages asking me if I really want to run that software because it is by an unknown publisher. I suppose it is right to give me the warnings though because Microsoft is a dodgy software company and they are right to query my sanity wanting to run their software!

It sound like Microsoft are building Windows 7 on top of Vista so looks like that will be crap too. Can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, or so the saying goes.

Go to the PC manufacturer's web site and download all the necessary XP drivers onto a thumb drive. Save all your bookmarks and personal files onto the same flash drive. Then reformat and install a fresh copy of XP plus your hardware drivers. When done, your computer will run twice as fast and be twice as reliable.

my screen only goes from light to dark when it goes from being pluged in to not pluged in. go to the battery and click on it. and put it on balanced. I know my cmp gives me taps if I want to have more than one window open. so you need to min the window you are in and then open your browser and go to another site that way. Then they wont be in the same window.

Its not an internet problem. Everytime you start a program like a game or SPSS the screen flashes dark and asks if you want to run it

That's normal behaviour for Vista. It even asks me if I want to run Microsofts own software because it is from an untrusted source Confused

It doesn't matter whether you've agreed to it before - it asks every single time
